I'm sure this has been done already.
I have a 2020 Taco TRD off road with the double cab and short bed w/manual transmission. I would like to lift it and run 33". I have a local shop that has a rough country 3 & 1" lift they can install for about $1050. I've asked and they say it can be aligned properly. I believe it does not have upper control arms and uses 1" blocks in the rear. I'm hoping to gain performance and not just have a lift for looks. I often drive too fast on the highway and I like to go off road. I would rather spend money on a good lift in the beginning than have to redo it later or have issues.
I live in the Phoenix area on the east side in Gilbert. If anyone has local shops to recommend.

    1. Does this seem like a good way to go?

    2. What have you done and what was the benefits, negatives, and cost?

    3. What rim/tire/backspacing did you get? Any trimming / rubbing with it?

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Not a good lift for what you want to use it for. Do some more research, there are tons of threads on it. Search Tacomaworld suspension lift in google and start reading. Save your money until then.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld, Brent!
If you are comfortable getting down and dirty, I’d recommend doing the work yourself. You could save the labor cost and get a nicer lift. I have the Eibach Stage 1 kit with 1.5” AAL. Stock wheels for now. If you’re not comfortable doing that, then it doesn’t sound too bad. I’m just cheap and trying to save as much $$$ as I can in any way.

I'm running 6112s at 5/6 notch and 5100 in back with a 1" block. Cost me $920 shopping around from Headstrong and 4WP. My wheels are a -12 offset. No real problems. At full up and lock i barely get a rub on my mud flap, the molded part the protrudes in toward the tire. Its so minor I'm not even gonna heat it and remold it.

The stage one Eibach and the rough country look pretty similar. I like the AAL better than the blocks. I think I'm moving toward a lift with UCA and maybe a diff drop for the front and the AALs for the rear. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the offset info! What tire size are you running?

rC seems to be bottom of the barrel. For 550 you can get billstein 5100 and add a leaf from toytech.

This is the Eibach pro kit from headstrong set at the first notch, with the 1/4" driver spacer. It's right at 2" lift in the front and I did 1.5" blocks for the rear(could use AAL instead). I paid an extra $100 or so to have them assemble the struts before shipping, making it a pretty easy install. I ended up paying around $850 total, free shipping. I am running 33's, 285/70r17. Hope that helps and welcome! There is a ton of great info and help to be found here!

Thanks man! I was originally looking at cement trucks but then started seeing pictures of these. You don't see a whole lot them, at least in my area.

I had to go with 2019 to get the color, wasn't offered in 2020, but ended up finding a great deal on this one as a demo. Thanks again man!

yeah man, sounds like a good deal. I saw that color, the dealer where I bought mine at, had every color option with the exception of the red. I just went with silver. easy to clean, easy to maintain. i am from NV (high desert) so any dark color is just a bad fucking option.

Hahaha I know that feeling. My last two trucks were black and then dark blue. You definitely can't go wrong with silver, seems like they end up looking cleaner (when dirty) than about any other color.

yeah man, I would never buy anything black. the NV roads and sun destroy clear coats, pain, windows from all the summer duststorms. And they are way to hot. its like walking in the devils asshole.
