License plate frame and tinted cover

In PA this is also illegal. Got pulled over this summer for this. The LEO was an great guy we ended up bullshitting for about 15 minutes. He gave us the "correct the condition" warning.

 

I bought those and they blocked the stickers on the bottom sides so I cut them and they look great, also fits into the groove in the rear bumper

 

If the shoe fits, then yes!

I ran a smoked one in FL for 6 months, no problems from cops ever & I drive all around town for work. Only reason I don’t have it anymore is because I got rear ended & it got smashed. I’m gonna get another for sure.

 

Pretty sure license plate covers and the frames are illegal in Nj. My gf got a ticket for having the dealership frame still on her car. (Instead of getting the speeding ticket she was pulled over for) so she didn’t make a scene.

 

Frames are legal. Frames that cover any letters or stickers on the plate are illegal.

 

I went with just license plates and nothing else.

 

For the Tacoma’s you’ve got to get the flat smoked kind, the bubble doesn’t fit over top of it because the plate has to slide into the groove in the rear bumper. I just barely got the flat smoked cover, my alumni border & plate to fit, but it can be done:
