    Absolutely agree!

I've just seen him mention more than once in many videos about strictly sticking to OEM components when the educated consumer can usually find something that suits their needs better while spending less.

I'm glad there are folks like him making informative and decently produced videos. I definitely appreciate it as it reminds me of doing DIY maintenance and repairs with a service manual and no internet to rely on.

Don't ever forget the business model.
The youtube guys is simply focused on likes and subscribes for ad revenue.
Toyota engineers get paid to design a truck that can safely take you from point A to point B. To start, stop, steer and handle the abuse.

    You decide who to believe.
    YouTube content creator?
Real engineering team that are the best in the world.
    Hard choice lol.

It would work. Difference is lack of anti foam additives.

I have several bottles of Dextron from my old Ford motorhome that I recently disposed of... they will work great for PS fluid now instead.

Think we are all overthinking this. Our trucks are not that sensitive.

my dad had a 2000 toyota sienna that had a ps squeal for about 3-5 years. and he put about 20k-25k a year on that van as a delivery driver. One day i asked him what fluid he puts into the power steering, he states that he adds power steering fluid only.......so i drain it, and put in atf, and its been quiet for the last 3 years. still same pump, reservoir, and lines. nothing is leaking.

The difference is that 2000 sienna is dexron type atf, which 3rd gen PSP takes, but you cannot put WS type atf.

And as a Toyota Master Diagnostic technician he gets to figure out and fix the problems the engineers are responsible for.

master tech doesn’t really mean much, and Toyota honestly is the best in the world for support and issues per vehicle.

there’s nothing that can be improved shy of using a synthetic atf

compared to other manufacturers? heck yes. I worked independent my apprenticeship and nothing came close to Toyota as a whole.

True story, I worked Chevy for my apprenticeship and through until I went to the custom world and now the unrelated world... any issues you see here, you can assume other brands are much worse by a multiple.

But boy let me tell you for job security as a mechanic, the American manufacturers are the place to be

I’ve done this and they handed me power steering fluid… it’s apparently what they use regardless of the manual. South east Toyota. I’m pretty sure that I never even broken the seal

Local dealer uses Johnsen's power steering fluid. Manual states Dexron 3 atf. I used this...
