I think you'll be fine as long as you don't add the table bracket under the overhang. I was down at OK4WD looking for that very answer. I didn't measure but when I was looking at the builds it was pretty obvious it would clear without that bracket. I plan on taking another trip soon. I will get a measurement then.

Edit: Here is a clipped video with a good example.
Looking at it now you may even be able to run the Uptop with the table mount.

What about the roof box? I might just get rid of the uptop rack if I have to. I'm planning on doing the trans America trail.. eventually doing it again but from WV to AK

I did the same. I was tired of the heavy 4 foot table I have been hauling around for years. The Alucab table is pricy but well made and I don't regret buying it at all. Our money is losing value every day that passes so why not spend it and get something useful while we can.

You see how much real-estate is up there? I can't imagine you would have any issues with clearance. I plan on going Uptop/Alucab. I'll revisit this with updates.

Exactly. The AluCab table is so convenient it is almost impossible to put into words.

I have a table with pretty decent real estate (for living out of a mid-sized truck) that is retrieved and deployed in literally 10 seconds.

Putting it away takes all of maybe 25 seconds.

I use it every time I camp in the truck (will surpass 150 nights in the next 17 days). Well worth the cost.

Anyone here looking for an e-lock for the canopy? I've been hurting for a way to lock it like the pop-n-lock on the tailgate that connects to the truck locks.

Those lock covers and the keys are a pain in the a$$ but I've never heard of this place before.

No reviews that I could find but I'm really kind of down to party on this one. Could maybe even talk with them about a group buy to save on shipping from Kangaroo land.

I always try to subscribe to the "buy nice or buy twice" MO. Every time I have skimped on something, I end of regretting it.

my two cents is that i dont see how those would be able to be seated without having to compress the weather sealing on the hatch to align and lock up automatically - at least that is my knee jerk reaction thinking about the biggest challenge of making those automatic.

look - i hear and agree the manual latches can be a PITA, but they are simple and something to be said about that for reliability and maintenance. those look complicated and prone to glitches and PITA things of their own nature

The bed of the truck moves separately from the cab of the truck so there is the possibility that the rack will make contact with the camper.

Alucab does have a recommended clearance (I can't remember what it is but you can find it online)

That being said the only person I've seen have that issue is someone with long travel and 35 who was jumping the truck Baja style.

Anyone able to confirm the gas strut lengths for the gen 3 explorer rear panel?

Installed my explorer last weekend and the rear hatch only opens about 90* from its closed position and @ 6' tall its just itching to split my forehead wide open when I'm not paying attention. I was under the impression from the images I had seen that the rear hatched would open somewhere closer to the 120* mark.

Also, is it common for the brackets that you use to secure the cap to the bed with to arrive bare plain steel and not powder coated? the distributer that I purchased the cap from said she had seen this before and that it is normal. Kinda fucked that a $4700 CAD doesn't come with the only part on it that is going to rust not powder coated....

Additionally, seems like some of the bracketry has changed around. (mine was fresh off the boat, mid march 23). The brackets that attach to the slotted trail rail (whatever you want to call the rail that has the factory adjustable tie down points). Old instructions indicate that its a backing sandwich plate type setup that has the back plate threaded to accept an M8 bolt. The brackets that now come with the explorer have a rear sandwich plate that is NOT threaded now. Instead it has square holes that a 5/16" carriage bolt drops into ( square hole secure the carriage bolt from rotating) and male threads of the bolt now face inwards to the center of the box and act as a stud to bolt the bracket too. I will add some pictures when I remove them to paint them.

That attachment set up looks like what is in my Contour that I also received in March. The I believe mine are M8 where the Mount attaches to the canopy. Also, my rear door goes up almost 120 regress. @FooManChu Would you like me to get you pictures of the numbers on the struts?

Question for those of you that have recently received your canopies. I know there is quite the lead time on these so I kind of want to get ahead of the game. I'm waiting on my 23 DCSB which I should have by the end of May early June (yes I am a planner lol)...I have my eye on the contour but I dont want the side windows as I dont want prying eyes to be tempted. Anyone know what kind of lead times we are looking at? My ideal scenario would be to take delivery of the truck and then very shortly thereafter the canopy. Also at this point looks like my options are ok4wd, Roko or tinyrig. I am in CT so driving to ok4wd -roughly 2.5 hrs away or roko -2 hrs away and picking it up to save the few hundred dollars on shipping is pretty tempting. This thread has been insanely inspiring and I thank you for the guidance.

I ordered this exact spec Jan 27 and haven't received it yet. I'm expecting an email any day now indicating it's arrived and ready for freight. I used OK4WD and they've been great every time I've talked to them.

If you call and ask they will give you ETA.

Oh y’all are talking about the actual table I meant the one that goes in the tent like this. It seems simple enough but I was just curious about mounting and securement for a DIY.

I got mine from Tiny Rig and it took about a month and a half to get it. That was with window wing doors.
