No a really good friend of mine does this for a living. I got an arc 1000w powering them. 72 sq feet of sound deadening.

nice. i've always intended to try the sls 6.5's, but they've been consistently out of stock every time i look at them. i ended up with the peerless hds nomex 6.5's, though i'm considering changing to the css ldw7 just for a change of pace.

He removed the plastic storage but left the metal part because I had the shallow mounts. He put deep subs in his and had to remove a lot more. Search fishing4laughs and look at his set up for what you’ll need to do

    Mainly stock
Did you had to use any other equipment between your amp LC5-1300 and the head unit
And if you could clarify is it a dsp amp or analog
I’ve been told that I can only upgrade my JBL system using
I’m starting the upgrade of my speakers with JBL 6x9 and 61/4 Rockford Fosgate on the rear doors
But just want to test and see how it sounds
    I’ll appreciate your response thanks

Your question of the amp I can answer. It’s the AudioControl LC 5.1300, being the LC it’s the analog. The D-series are DSP.

Sadly no I was going to but I was close to graduation when I got the truck so I didn’t have time to build my own as much as I would’ve liked to. This is the one I bought I’m sure I could do some stuff to make it better later but as of now it’s plenty for me as I’m focusing on a more overland build.https://www.hifisoundconnection.com...XwAl5UtngGzPw0vdny2GIicKWOfdG-fBoCtc0QAvD_BwE

How do you like that sub? Also do you know about how much room he gave it? Lastly, what did you have to do to the seat backs?

Looks amazing! I have the same sub, hence all the questions...

Wife had this from years ago and she got a new 4Runner and the Oem audio plus sub. So I installed it in my access cab. Mounted it upside down to the floor. Now I have great flat spot for the fridge when we use it.

Not the most amazing sub. But works well enough for me

Which subs are these? are they the shallow mount ones that are $150-180 each?

Anyone have any experience with Alpine Subs?

Specifically the Alpine S-W10D2 or S-W10D4?

    g500SW10D2-F.jpg

I had two alpine Type R subs back in the day and remember really liking them. Decided I needed to replace my worn out old JL 10" and this was about the closest I could find to being able to fit in my ********* box and that matched RMS handling to my Kicker DX 500.1

I've had an Alpine Type S 10" subwoofer before. I think it was that model number. I really liked it!

I recently installed a single S-W10D4 with an Alpine S-A60M and I like it. I started with a JL10W0v3-4 and a JL JD500/1 which was running 300W at 4 ohms but I wasn’t happy with it so I swapped it out for the Alpine which is 600W at 2 ohms in a 0.5 cu/ft sealed enclosure. About the same cost and I’m much happier with the Alpine setup, the sub requires less airspace than the JL so it’s a closer match and the extra power definitely hits a bit harder, I can feel it a bit more.

I bought that JL in a gas station parking lot about 15 years ago. Patched it with some silicone sometime along the way. It's been in 4 Vehicles and was finally ready to retire with the addition of the Alpine.
I have a Kicker DX 500.1 that was running somewhere around 150W at 4ohm to the JL. I have it running 500W at 1ohm to the Alpine.

Overall it's definitely an upgrade but if i'm being honest it didn't blow me away. That old JL was a beast of a speaker. That being said the Alpine hits harder, has fuller deeper bass and is a lot louder. I had to adjust the gain structure of my amp and I can actually use my remote gain knob instead of just having it maxed out 100% of the time.

Sorry if the dog hair is disturbing. It's winter here in PA and I wasn't about to vacuum at night in the cold. That's a spring cleaning job.
