The HO’s fit and with a .35 cuft sealed box they don’t take up much space. I had one ported in .7 cubes and with the port it took up more space than the two sealed in .7. Loud, i would have to say yes, but the subs are so clean and blend with the front stage that it doesn’t seem loud. They are not obnoxious and fatiguing which can be better perceived as loud. For the price you would be hard pressed to find something more musical. If you want to rattle your teeth look elsewhere.

I have a pioneer gm-d9605 amplifier currently powering 4 speakers at 4 ohms and a pioneer ts-swx2502 10” sub. I’m not the biggest fan of the sub so looking to upgrade it, I was looking at the JL CP208LG subs or something comparable (I have a 2020 double cab).

Curious if I can use 2 ohm subs with my current setup or do I need to find something that’s 4 ohm?

    You can use either, amp is rated 350w @ 4ohms or 600w @ 2ohms

Put some power to those in a well made box and you'll be real happy

Trying to decide between a JL CP208LG or the JL CS113TG-TW5v2

I know the 8 inch subs will fit with that box, not sure if the 13.5 inch will fit behind my seats. I just removed the plastic storage bins. Anyone decide between these 2 subs or have any other suggestions?

i wonder. i have that sub in a Marv box and the fit is tight easily within 1/4", maybe 1/8" to the back of the rear seat. that may be a solution, but with mine there's no room for anything including any grill. but there's no contact on excursion with the seat down.

Finally got my box built for my Skar SDR 18. This was my second attempt at the box since the first time was a disaster. This time I made sure I had everything correct. The sub is running off a Skar LP750 wired to 1 ohm. The box is roughly 4.6cuft after displacement, but I was still able to fit it with the single rear seat removed. The box is tuned to about 32hz.

This was a nice upgrade from my SDR 12. It may not play the higher bass notes as well as the 12, but it loves the 30-36hz range. The sub is still breaking in so it’s not even close to its full potential.

I have tried a bunch but I’ve went from all stinger 8000s in the last couple months to the stinger 9000s. I’ve still got an 8000 running the rear coaxials and an X3 running the sub. They’re expensive and I only bought a couple a week but man they have really brought these focals to life and my door speakers have as much punch as my sub has.. a lot more thump and clarity at full volume and all gains are set exactly the same that I set with your DD1! Lol... in all honesty I believe the stinger 6000s are as good as the 8000s but man these 9000s are serious. I’m now a believer in good cables I’ve heard it for myself

Ive got the 8000s, would love to get something better, but I have 6 channels from the radio to the dsp, then 10 channels from the dsp to the amps... way too expensive for me to replace them all again.

Yeah I understand that for sure! I just bought the main two channels for the input of my dsp bc it’s the only channels that deliver the signal the other inputs are for pre eq and fading capabilities on the twk 88 I could actually remove them if i didn’t want fading bc that’s all they’re doing. I promise you though if you can find a deal on the 9000s(Best Buy) is cheapest I found that weren’t used you won’t regret it. 6 footers reached from under my passenger seat to behind passenger rear seat from my HD amp and 6 footers reached easily across to driver side bin where my xd amp is. Only needed one long run and that was 12 footer from headunit it input of JL twk 88. I was very skeptical at first but it’s an audible difference for sure. It cleaned my top end up and filled the bass in just right for me. I will end up replacing the sub channel and rear channels too after hearing the difference. Before with the 8000s and everything else I tried certain recordings were not as clean on the upper end therefore I couldn’t play certain songs I really liked full blast but that is gone. My door speakers in the front are full of mid bass now too just deep clean punches. I’m impressed

I would vote for the two 8” myself. They’re very impressive for 8”s. I’d also be very surprised if proper box with the 13.5 would even fit. You’d need the 2 ohm 8”s and that 600 watts would sound great on the JLs

Picked mine up over the weekend from the man himself. That dude is a wealth of information and a hell of a guy. For those shopping for sub as well, he can get that for you too.
