Anyone else have issues with their leer cap headliner falling off? Seems like the glue isn’t holding it up. I’ve had several problems with my leer 100xr you would think quality would match price with these

My leer 100xq hasn't had that problem. They sure are expensive enough. I would think you could get that replaced under warranty?

I’m going to try to warranty it but I don’t live in the state I bought it in anyway so hopefully I can bring it to another dealer

I also have a Leer QX100, it's 2 years old now and I haven't had any problems. Your Leer dealer should be willing to take care the problem. On a side note, I never realized how convenient a shell would be. I doubt I'll ever take it off.

I totally get that! Before owning a truck I thought people that had caps were stupid and should have just got an SUV but after owning one now I absolutely love it and definitely understand better all the benefits and differences between a truck with a cap vs an SUV.

That glue is usually bad assed. Probably has something to do with poor surface to glue on. Oil or something was on the fiberglass when it was applied. Leer should fix.

What are the other problems that you mentioned? Maybe you should just get in touch with Leer if you're having that many problems. I would take a lot of pictures and document everthing that's wrong. That way you will have something to send them if requested.

Take it to Leer, they had a manufacturing problem - it happens.

My pops has a Leer shell that's close to 30 years old and still basically fine. It's been on three different trucks!

Same thoughts until I had to load stuff. I even did a video of why I did it.

    Never going back

That's the reason I bought a utility trailer, its a lot easier to load on anyway. I can keep things
in the shell that I don't want to get wet or stolen. Best of both worlds to me.

The fully loaded Leer 100XR I had was utter shit. Fix what you can and get rid of it.

Try an AluCab canopy - it'll blow your mind.

You'll also blow alot of extra cash for that overpriced thing too!
Well, if ain't the Leer Hater from BC. Just for the record when you said folks in the South didn't know what rain is, this is the remnants of TS Alberto. This is minor compared to actual Hurricanes we get. Even though there has been serious flooding in its path. You didn't mention the rediculous price tag on your favorite shell either.Screenshot_2018-05-29-15-32-52.jpg

The "ridiculous price tag" of my "favourite shell may be ridiculous for you, but for us here in Canada, the price difference between my Leer and my AluCab was a mere $200, or ~5% of the total cost. In other words: nothing. Even if it was a $1000, I'd still happily pay it.

From the massive size of windoors (which are now actually incredibly useful, while the ones on the Leer were decorative garbage), to the rectangular shape that actually lets me put a large box (or dog crate) in the bed, and not be limited to the middle of the bed that has a semi-flat roof, to the interior tracks/extrusions (on the roof and three sides) that accept M8 bolts and let me securely and easily mount a million accessories, to the proper, waterproof seals, to the convenient locks and latches, to the meagre 150lb weight, to the colossal roof strength (have you seen the video of a 6000lb land cruiser being lowered and left on top of the AluCab canopy? try that with a fibreglass one), there is absolutely no comparison between a Leer 100xr and the AluCab canopy.

And to be clear, I hate Leer, ARE, SnugTop, Century, Raider, and all other fibreglass canopies equally. They're all garbage, and Leer is no more special than you are.

Be sure to enjoy your hurricanes and your cousins.

Most folks around here don't plan on parking a Land Cruiser on top of the shell, most like me just need something to keep the Freaking Bugs out! By the way most of our Redneck cousin are alot better looking than those Yetis y'all call women. Glad you like Alu - Cab, for me... I love Alu-Bama.

So I went to a local leer dealer and my options were
1- send it to the leer factory to fix and get it back in 6+weeks (basically while I need it most)
2- have the dealer fix it for $90
3- fix myself and probably mess it up/ void warranty

Other problems I’ve had are rubber seals falling off and the brake light never worked

It seems like if you contact leer they should be able to do better than that for you. That's the dealer being a stingy ass!

This is absolutely true, the AluCab looks less modern than the topper on my '89 F150. If you're all about the utility, more power to you, but that thing is fuuuugly

I can’t seem to find a customer service or warranty service number for leer anywhere. They have like online forms to fill out but I never get any replies

I've had a 180XL for about 2 years now and yeah the liner is separating in places. I use Velcro to attach stuff to the inside on the shell, so that's probably not helping the situation. I've found that 3M 77 spray works well to re-adhere it, but obviously you need an access point to get the glue behind the liner. I cut small slits in the liner for that purpose
