The rear window of my Leer 100XL got smashed and wondering about replacement. I'm going to WY in a week and looking for something to replace it, otherwise the truck will not be going.

My Leer dealer said a replacement is 3-4 weeks out because of parts shortage or some nonsense and besides that, Leer will not be sending a truck this way before the 4th holiday. The window is frameless glass with the hardware attached to the glass, hinges at the top and the metal piece at the bottom that holds the locking mech and strut ball attachment things. The dealer is quoting me $385 with installation. Is this something a custom glass guy can do quicker for about the same price or should I just wait for Leer?

Our other truck is a stock 4Runner so only thing we lose out by if we need to take that to WY is space, ground clearance and a locking rear diff while gaining comfort.

Pics from when cap was new.

Does Safelite handle that type of glass?

I got my windshield replaced the day after Christmas and 4-5 after the incident.

I've broken a few cap windows. Unfortunately I've found that most auto window places don't deal with cap windows. They're one-off from the manufacturer which means going through the dealer. If you're not picky about the appearance you can cut yourself a piece of plexiglass while your waiting for delivery.

6 weeks later I'm still waiting for my Leer rear door/window. Dealer claims he's waiting to hear from Leer on it. Not sure why it's taking so long for a replacement. Currently running a pc of plexi for the rear, looks like crap.
