I have a 2105 tacoma 2wd. I have done Phillips led headlights and morimoto led fogs. I am debating adding a lightbar in the front bumper.

Being I am 2wd and will not be wheeling is it overkill? I like the look but wondering how much I will use it.

Go for it! I had a 30" from Amazon in my lower valenence and it was bright as hell, for pretty cheap. Just don't use it on the road if other cars are around.

I rarely use mine, but at $40 for a china one off Amazon. I don't mind. Helpful to light up that Nordstrom parking lot.....

    well

do you picture yourself going deep offroad or on country goatpaths in the dark, and needing to have
better ability to navigate ? maybe you need one

if you are just mall crawlin and never going to scratch up your paint on trees and bushes,
    then you don't need one

I don't off-road per-se, but I DO live back in the woods, and it's really helpful late at night as there are NO other lights around me for over a mile.

Soo The only two uses for lightbars are...
"Deep offroad and country goat paths."

Plenty of 2wd trucks on here can wheel better than 4x4 or with a crappy driver.
Don't get hung up on the hype.
    Do what you want.

I am 2wd also and I'm going to install my SP pods soon and plan on purchasing a 51.5in curved bar for the roof. I don't see it as overkill. You never know what they will be useful for. I've been in plenty of situations where more light would have been optimal.

yeah. that is it. pretty simple, right ? I don't know why it's hard for others to understand, but yep. that is it.

you'd own me a nickle for that type of advice, normally.

you don't need a huge one to get a decent amount of light...20"-30" is fine...even LED replacements for the fog lights will throw a good amount of light...

I would say over 80% of our customers don't even Offroad that have our LEDs. Most people get them for looks and just for quick extra light when they need them.

Treat them like high beams. When nobody is in front of you(coming or going), turn them on, you're not hurting anybody. Thats what I do.

I off-road on my pre runner. 95% of the time, I have camp up before lights out. The other 5%, I wished I had more light but I am not a fan of the bars. Do what you want in this case ? PS I off road in the California desert not many trees around, if you are in forest areas you may have a point.

I have an amber bar for snow storms. My buddy had one last winter during a blizzard and it saved our asses!
