Hate to be that guy, but I am thinking of installing a LED Light bar on top of my windshield/ on the roof and I need some advice. Not sure if I want to go 50, 42, or 46. Can people show me some pics of them installed? Also, where is a good place to get the mounts for them, and does anyone have glare issues on the windshield?

I think whatever the length of your windshield, is a good place to start and looks the best to get a bar that takes up the length of it or as close as possible. Depending how you mount the bar that is. If you have it sit flush with the top of the cab, then get one that measures the length of the top of your windshield. If you decide to mount it a little lower, get one a couple inches longer. 50" seems to be the length of choice for 2nd gens. 42" for 1st gens. But it really depends how you mount it and with what mounts. Ones that companies/members sell are designed for certain length bars. Unless you want to fabricate your own.. Just remember the lower you mount it the worse the glare will be. And lighter colored vehicles such as silver/white (I would imagine) the glare will be higher reflecting off the hood. I've got black so I think that helps a bit. Doesn't really bother me. Plus I've got a pretty thick 5% tint sun visor strip that sits about 5 inches below the top of windshield so that helps a ton too I think.. But some guys can't stand the glare even if minimal. It WILL affect your view either way. Just depends on if it bothers you or not. One thing to keep in mind as well with roof mounted bars, is you will most definitely have to keep your windshield clean clean clean! Any light layer of dust or any bugs even the smallest ones, will be lit up and drive you crazy. I don'tmind cleaning my windshield all the time though. I just stop at the convenience store every night or every other night and wipe it clean really quick. Or keep some clean rags and cleaner on me at all times. If it's just a light layer of dust then I just dry wipe it with the wipers and be on my way.
So yeah, decide on your mounts first. There's some members here that have reasonable prices for them. Pretty sure relentless fab makes them for yours. But that will be the determining factor on your bar length. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the 50" though.

Well I am pushing more towards a 50 inch bar, but HOLY HELL pricing on brackets. Definitely just made me rethink this

Check out my build thread for pics (I'm lazy)

and glare is bad, whistling can get annoying.. however it makes the truck look so much "meaner".. you will never get high beamed without them regretting it, people even pull over in the day time more now when its off. I get asked about it all the time, some good some bad..

Here is my install, most people I talked to that ordered 50" LED bars got one that was 48.5 or 49.5 inches, so I figured I'd out smart them and get a 52" bar. Back fired when they actually sent a 52" bar, had to modify my relentless fabrications brackets to fit it on my roof. Looks a little crazy being that big but I like it, low and out front of my windshield. Crazy bad whistling noise till you block air flow over the fins. The glare isn't too bad, mainly because I have a darker colored hood without a hood scoop.

I have a 50" curved, check my build thread for pics too. Theres a GB going on that was $400 for bar and mounts. Glare is bad, but whistling can be fixed

My 50.1" radius bar, I love my led Light bar. Glare is ok, I think people wine to much about it. But I think it's fine. Whistling sucks, but you can easy fix that. Just depends on what brackets you get too. Also make the truck really bad ass In my opinion.

I got these mounts from @eazycompany on IG. They are made for a 42" Straight light bar but he also offers them for curved bars too. I just got an E Bay special for now. So my mounts cost more than my light. LOL

Here's mine 50" on Nfab mount. I don't mind the glare cuz it looks bitching and its super fun doing night runs. Lights up EVERYTHING and yes clean your windshield clean!

Wrapped it in electrical tape to make it look professional and tucked it in between the pillar and windshield, doesn't hit at all.
