Whats up guys, have any of you quick spliced a LED bar with your existing fog light circuit? Im not sure how much power I would draw.

How big is the lightbar? I did it with my ditch light pods and it's fine. You get too big and it'll draw too much power and your wires will catch fire

Thinking about a 15-20", wanting to install it on the bottom lip space under the grille half. Nothing too big.

A 20" bar draws somewhere around 10 amps. I'd check what size fuse is in that circuit first and add the total wattage for fogs and bar. Add 20% to that to be safe.

Just use a relay man... Better to be safe than sorry. It only takes a little more effort to wire in a relay. Adding an extra power source to an existing circuit is risky. For one that circuit is rated to handle so much power from the source it was designed for. Adding a bigger fuse is definitely not a good idea either. Doing that may potentially burn the wires up. Maybe not at first, but over time the increased demand on those wires/circuit may make them degrade and then cause issues down the road.

Use a relay. With an inline fuse rated for your bar. And use the fog light wire splice as the activation circuit.

I'll probably just run the wiring they send with my bar to be safe and find a place to mount the switch

Don't wanna wire it to your fogs? So it comes on with the fogs? Or would you be using them separately?
