I'm interested in seeing how these work as I'd like to get them myself.

My head is spinning after reading through all 14 pages of this thread :) I had a clear idea of what I needed at the start but then everything got jumbled by the end. It sounded like some of the lights used on the access cab are different than the double cab...not sure which ones. What would be super helpful is a summary of this monstrous thread. For myself, I just want to increase the brightness of my rear and front dome light since I can't see anything. Brighter back up lights would also be great since I often back up a dark very steep driveway. My bed light doesn't light up the bed well...is that already a LED? Lastly, brightening up the map lights would be nice. I need to figure out what bulbs to get for my double cab TRD sport. I don't care how much they cost, all I care about is brightness, quality and low risk...I do not want to break anything on my new truck.
ps....my 2014 4runner trail edition didn't have any the lighting issues...still love my Tacoma though, it's my first one and has been my favorite truck since elementary school

access cab don't have a dome light, that is the only difference between the double cab.

Pardon NoDak, but the Access Cab DOES have a Dome light! It is the only one left for me to replace. Incidentally, pulling the overhead Console is the easiest way to change out the Map lights. As stated earlier, simply pull straight down (with a little force) and it pops right out. I removed the single connector on the driver's side (push in on the middle of the harness side of the connector) and it can be worked on in your lap.

Tried this out and it is better. I turned them to the side (led's point outwards) and slightly facing the rear; much better now.

I just did what laggz mentioned and it's better now.

Read through the thread. There are numerous tips on all the installs, including the bumper and license plate part.

Wouldn't it not be a problem if someone took 30 seconds to unhook the negative from the battery?

It doesn't look any different than the pictures posted earlier in the thread, just a white light LED, looks nice.

Which lights did you get for the map lights? I see they have 160 lumen http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/interior/194/6-5k.html

    Or 100 lumen http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/interior/194/194-6-w-5k-ll.html

As well as a bunch of other options. http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/interior/194.html
