Just installed LED headlights and am very pleased with low beam performance, but there is almost no difference between low and high beam
    Any suggestions?
I also have LEDs in the factory fog lights and these are useless.
What I am trying to achieve is more light on high beam and am wondering if I could replace the fog lights with something else and rework the wiring so the fog replacements could come on independently or when high beam is selected.
I understand that the current fogs are not wired to be on with high beams and for there intended purpose I understand why.
    Any help appreciated as always.

Led bar up top, another tucked away in lower grille. 6" Pro Comp, 35's.
If you REALLY want performance out of your lights you won't be able to beat a good set of projectors with quality HID bulbs. LEDs, or at least the ones on the market we use, have the brightness, but lack the throw of HID's and even a good set of halogens. I have a buddy with leds in his tundra and my silverstars look better, have good cutoff lines and plenty of throw on high beam. Unless you build the optics/reflectors specifically for that led you are installing you will not get everything it has to offer. Just my 2 cents.

There is a thread on here for modding your fogs to be on whenever. Completely independent from your lights. I think it was called anytime fog light mod or something like that.

Yeah yer best bet is to get some same size led spot off road lights and put those in if you're only using them as high beams. Then wire them up to a seperate relay with the high beam as the activating switch. That's how I have all my led bars wired up. Not sure how hard/easy it will be getting em in the factory fog light spot, but I've seen a couple guys do it. I believe rigid makes some mounts for their pods, but that is a bit pricey for just a little light. You should be able to find some round ones the same size and retro them in. Perhaps eBay. But you'll have to sift thru all the junk in there and find the good ones that you like.

Edit: or just get a bumper led bar;) Because anything you get in the fog location really isn't going to be a whole lotta light to be used as high beams further down the road. They'll help, but I think you would be better off investing in spot lights, or an led bar. Even with all my led bars, I still wish I had more light thrown down range. I plan to get some 4.5" round led light cannons for that myself. I found a pair for $200 and will be mounting them on ditch light brackets. Anyways.. just my .02 and trying to help. Because I would rather you consider other options maybe even down the road if you can't afford it now. Because I have a feeling you want a ton of light and the truth is that you won't get much out of fog light replacements.

Thanks for all the input. I will digest and determine what I should do. I am thinking a pair of spots on a bull bar may be a better bet or an LED light bar

trd sport with avid off road light bar, avid rock sliders. OEM roof rack, 12' LED light bar, and Sock monkey decals.
The LED bar will put out a ton more light than the spots, i use that along with my high beams pretty much every time i drive at night

What kind of LED headlights do you have? Several members of this forum have purchased ours over the last few months and have been very pleased with the results. Our headlights are 3,200 lumens per bulb. We also carry the same high-output 3,200 lumen bulbs for your fog lights and the two combined provide amazing light output. Maybe some of our customers will chime in.

5000 on the headlights. Not sure on the fogs, but they are useless right now.
Looking for the best way to get more light further out when on high beam. Low beam is very good for me.

Pretty wishful figures I have 100 watt H4's and they are less than 3000 lumens.

Maybe that is 5000 for both. Sounds more likely now I think about it

There is not an LED kit on the market that is 5,000 lumens. A lot of the lower-end kits add the lumen output of both bulbs and advertise that as the output. That's probably what it is. Check out our kits. This thread has a lot of customer comments, pictures, video, etc. Let me know if you have any questions!

Yeah, but LED's usually put out an unfocused blast of light, versus the more focused lights. You might actually get better use from spotlights vs a LED bar. I know with my bar, I'm seeing the tops of trees getting a lot of light too - and yes, it's aimed appropriately.

Sure, it complements my high beams, but it could be better.

X2. Pretty much ALL light bars are disigned to give you a ton of light, but in the first few hundred feet. That's about it really, regardless whether they are spot or flood. Spot bars are a little more focused, but not by much. Floods just throw it out and dissipate the light everywhere. But beyond that few hundred feet, the light just gets washed out and is pretty dim down the road. Some really expensive bars such as vision x will throw farther. As well as the ones with the bigger 10 watt reflector bowls like I have. I have more light down range than most, but it's still not much. I still want more light the road up to about 1k feet. hence the want for the light cannons. I still have a hard time seeing objects (debris) in the road like tires and junk.

I think op should get some cheap flood lights for his fogs. Then get some led light cannons:) I think that would work best. That way you have a bit more flood light in front of vehicle and to the sides, then a ton of light down range. If you're not wanting a ton of flood light that is.

Overall you would be much happier with a bi-xenon retrofit. LED technology is on the way but isn't quite there yet for a plug and play application. I have a shop in Cary that does retrofitting. "Defiant Custom Rides" is off Evans Rd. near Weston Parkway. I am a dealer for TRS, and Morimoto. It always helps to have someone local to talk with in person about your options.
