I replaced my stock headlights with some LED ones. Low beams work when wired one way but high beams don’t when I swap the wiring the high beams work but the low beams don’t I’ve followed the wiring diagram that came with the headlights was wondering if anyone knows how to solve this issue. 1997 Tacoma

You'll likely need a h4 relay harness kit. This is common for the older Toyotas with sealed beam headlights with the way toyota wires them up.

Very simple: return LED where they came from and buy yourself a set of HELLA with Phillips or Sylvania H4 halogen bulbs. You will be much happier and safer driving at night and everybody on the road will thank you.

Or use quality LED bulbs with proper beam patterns :)

Yet to be designed. As of now it's still a dream. :(

The guys over at https://headlightrevolution.com/ have LED bulbs with great cutoff. I personally run the V.4 in my truck and they work like a dream!

Definitely don't run a drop in LED in a H4 housing. Return whatever you bought if possible.

Swap out the headlight assemblies for Hella E-codes, which will be a massive improvement just with a stock bulb. Then upgrade the bulbs by follow this thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-h4-not-led-or-hid.398066/

Stock wattage performance bulbs are covered, as are ultra high performance high wattage bulbs. The results will drastically outperform drop in LEDs without you being "that guy" that is causing illegal levels of blinding glare to everyone else on the road.

Headlight revolution is terrible with their misleading marketing claims and promotes plenty of false information. They use they typical our bulbs don't provide glare because they match a halogen sales tactic, except they don't. Here is another post I just covered with another vendor making the same claim:

    :worthless:
Sure, you have to say that - you spent almost 100 dollars per bulb, so it must be good, right? :jerkoff: . What the guy in headlightrevolution is not telling you about V4 is that led chip projects the light into one direction only, while halogen filament shoots light equally 360 degree. So the V4 bulb uses about only 30% of the reflector surface to put out the beam on the road. V4 or V10 (or whatever version number they will come out with) is not going to outperform halogen bulb in reflector housing designed originally for that particular halogen bulb.

Unfortunately your truck can't take HELLA so the only acceptable solution for you is projector retrofit. Sorry.

Luckily OP truck is the "old style" where 200mm HELLA is a perfect solution. Read what @crashnburn80 posted :hattip:. He did more valuable research than all other guys (including headlightrevolution bullshit) combined.

Personally I can also recommend Autopal E-cut as an cheap alternative to HELLA. It is not the same, the pattern is not as perfect as HELLA (two hotspots in high beam instead of one) but I'd say quite close and acceptable (cut off is good and hot spots are where they should be). As the overall quality it is not bad too. I got a set in 2014 and I'm still waiting for them to go bad, so I can replace them with the HELLA I have in a box.

Luckily I got the nearly half off, I got them for less than 100. Next time ill do more research before purchasing headlights. But to be honest, i'm happy with the bulbs. But I won't be recommending them in the future. Oh well!:notsure:
