LED Headlight Assembly cost.

This site has saved me from spending $ on LED Bulbs and now I want white light and seems that a projector assy is what I like, BUT are there any out there that’s under a Grand that will give me white light, not concerned with sequential turn signals, but would like better light to see while night driving?

Good ones (OEM) are 'spensive, at about $1200 for a set.

Man o man, was afraid of that, did you get them from Toyota for around $1200 or somewhere else?

Buy OEM LED housings. It will be an investment that you will not regret - roughly 1200 bucks

I have tried nearly everything on my 2018. Halogen housing with several types of LED bulbs, Spyder housings (shit) with LED bulbs and HID bulbs, Morimoto V1, and them finally went to the OEM LED. Let me save you a boat load of money and regret. The brightest of all have been the OEM LED. The most focused of all have been the OEM LED. Halogen housings with LED bulbs come close, but the glare you create will cause you nothing but haltered from other drivers. The Morimoto V1s were close, but I could never get them adjusted to where I was happy and oncoming traffic was happy.

OEM LED assemblies are worth every penny I paid to have shipped from Sparks in South Carolina to Washington State, then for me to drive across the border to pick them up. The light output is so much nicer than the halogens.

Spend money on quality when it comes to safety. And being able to see at night on back roads and dark highways is definitely a safety thing.

ToyotaSparks...about $665 per light. I'm not crying anymore! lol

 

Another option is an honest to goodness retrofit LED projector.

I have not had him retro my headlights, the posts there show some very good work. The only reason I have not, is I would rather not do more mods as with each mod the wife makes a comment along the lines of "You've done so much work on your truck. It's a shame you'll loose it all that hard work and have to do it all over again when you get a new truck." Which I translate to "STOP spending on your truck and spend more on me"

 

Thank you to the OP for this thread, I have also been looking at changing the head lights. I do see a few on the market where you can't change the bulbs .. In Canada its very pricy for the TRD pro LED ones but IMO for everything quality over quantity.

Why not just swap the H11 bulbs, $40 and 60 seconds you are good to go.

 

Yeah, the OEM Tacoma LED's are the best bet out there if you're serious about seeing where you're going at night, plus they're far better than any bulb you can put into the stock projector units and they're legal and quite beautiful from an industrial design point of view. I've had mine in since January 1st 2020 and since I had to wait for the harness to arrive my light assembly sat very still for a portrait.

 

I did the OEMs with @daveeasa ' s harness. Super easy install and they work great after a year of use. Ordered the lights from Sparks as others have done - I think there's still that discount code from Chloe on there as well. My advice: do it, buy once - cry once.
