Looking at the diode dynamics ss3 led fog lights for my 2012 tacoma. My truck didn't come with stock fog lights, so I'm wondering if anyone knows how to mount them, and what relay to get. I've done Amazon LED pods on previous trucks, so I think i have the hang of connecting to the battery, going through the firewall to install the switch in the cab, etc. I just need to know if there's some premade bracket to mount the DD fogs? And what relay I'd need to buy?

If you have the precut holes on the bumper with the filler in place. The bumper on the backside should have the mounting tabs.Post a pic of your front bumper.

I can see the mounting point from the wheel well, awesome. I'm assuming the brackets from the diode dynamics kit will work r great! Now for wiring... I don't wanna go through the whole stock wiring project. Is there a specific relay/way to connect with the diode dynamics lights? It's be nice to connect to the battery and install my own switch!

So you’ll just need the garnish that has the fog light hole in it. That garnish is just held in with some clips on the back side which can be reused. The tabs should be on the back side and you’ll need some small screws for one side on the lights. DD I believe sells the harness kit.

Your TACO most likely has the OEM Fog wiring in place. Have you verified?

I haven't checked. Can I check by looking at wiring in the steering column? Or would there be a connection dangling near the fog light area?

Nope, the 2nd Gen uses dash switch for fogs. Look under the bumper first to verify wiring for fog lamps. Then open the small box next to the big box (fuses and relays) in the engine bay.

Okay good to know. I'll check after class. So if it has the stock wiring, it should just be plug n play with the DD kit, right? And if it doesn't have stock wiring, I'll need to get the DD harness? Seems simple enough

Oh perfect. I have a bezel on the truck currently right? Could I just keep that one in there?

If it doesn't have the relay, it might have the relay terminals...bottom left.

If the center hole pops out then yes you can reuse that bezel at least I would think so.

They do pop out, so that should work well. Thanks

Is that just because of this model of truck?

Yes. So stand alone fog harness will be required. Choice are, always able to turn on (not recommended, leave on = drain battery), On after IGN, On with Low BEAM (OEM) off with High Beam.
