    Hello TacomaWorld!

I have a 2008 Tacoma and I would like to know if anyone could please recommend a reliable LED Dome light to replace the old fuse style bulb.

I already tried tried Super Bright Lights and ordered one from them but to my surprise it did not work at all.
As a matter of fact it actually popped the Dome 7.5 amp fuse (which I replaced).
Returned that for my money back.

I am looking for a good, reliable no BS replacement LED light that it basically plug-in and use without popping the fuse, not having to insert the LED in a specific way (right way-wrong way, etc.).

I also did a quick purchase from Auto Zone on an LED Light that they had available for my year Tacoma but it would not even work? Again, returned it for my money back and no it did not pop /blow the Dome fuse.

The Dome light works fine without any problems using a normal fuse type bulb but have been experiencing problems when trying to use a regular LED Light bulb.

So this is way I am asking here "IF" anyone could please recommend a good reliable LED Light bulb?

Thanks in advance for your time and any or all suggestions and recommendations and all is appreciated.

Some of the led bulbs are polar sensitive. Did ya try them both ways?

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
Those LED lights are more for the overhead dual Map lights, etc.

I am looking specifically for the vehicles Interior Dome light fixture that can be replaced with an LED Light.

    Thanks anyway.

I just tried it one way....didn't want to risk blowing fuse's.

Thing is.....neither one of those previous LED Light bulbs did not give any sort of indication as to how or which direction they needed to be installed, etc.

So I just tried the one way and did not bother messing around with which way is the correct way, etc.

I just want an LED Light bulb that can be insert (anyway) and work!

Sylvania is the brand LED Light bulb that I had purchased from Auto Zone.....that did not work at all.

Bet all you had to do is flip it around. It has do with that a led has an anode(+ side)and cathode(- side)

    Warning!!!
Whatever bulb you try disconnect your battery first. There have been several posts about burning out a circuit board trace in the overhead console while replacing a dome light bulb. Don’t trust that dome fuse to protect you it didn’t them, and consider yourself lucky.

This is 2nd gen. Hasn't that problem been 3rd gen specific? I recall seeing such, but not what years affected.

Can you post a picture of what exactly you do have?

Again, I am looking for the Interior Dome light......not the overhead Map lights.

Yeah.....my 2008 (2nd Gen.) is definitely considered "OLD" but still has what it take's to keep me going!

    Love them Tacoma's!

I'm keeping it for life!.....or depending that is....who ever goes/dies first....me or the Tacoma!
