Getting an LED installed tomorrow......it's a 24" on the front bumper...it's an eBay special but said it was rated for IP68 water proof rating.....I see lots of post saying water got in from just the rain but most of those are IP 67 rating
Any one have experience with the touch less car washes and light bars? Thanks

Ive washed my truck with a 40" on the roof many times, and it sits outside so all rain is right on it and I havnt had any issues. Its a Tough-light black series, age is about 3 years.

Havent had any leakage on mine yet. But my 42" roof bar did get caught on the top spinner brush in a car wash and it grabbed it and rotated it up and backwards. But this is because mine isnt really 'locked' in place, just tightened down with washers and rubber washers inside to stop it from rotating. My specific bar doesnt have the locking brackets on the ends. I need to drill another hole in it and secure it better with a second bolt. Did fine for a few car washes. But after that one time I never went back to a car wash that has the top spinner brushes. They just opened up a new fast n friendly in my town as the only other one was the shitty top spinner circle k one. And the new one has the 'strands' that dangle over and rock back and forth or whatever. That's the only issue I see with going through car washes. Because if its gonna leak, its gonna leak no matter what kind of water its subjected to be it rain or washing.

What brand bars do you have? (I'm curious so know who actually put their light bars to use/abuse, other than looks)

my 42" comes out of the wash pointed to the sky. The hellas and other lights dont get moved, you should be good with your bar. might have to adjust it some

Had a couple KC 8" 200's get yanked out of there mount socket of the Overbuilt and pounded across the hood of my 85 SR5 Xcab. Comical. Never went to a car wash again. KC junk!

Find one by the coast,,they are good for prepping paint for respray.

The better bracketry you have,,the deeper the dent that can be yanked in sheetmetal, popping front glass loose, pillars destroyed,,Then the Ins totals it due to water damage among other things. A friend with a low miles 2011 big cab 6 just went thru this. He is having a Hella time running down claim forms from all involved. A bad idea fellas,,just my opinion. You have to do what is needed and are limited to I guess,,just make/buy it overbuilt, check it all the time, and you should be ok.
