How many of you guys keep your receiver hitch and d ring permanently in?

If you do , you have a locking pin or no?

Yeah I like the look of it in, but I know some jerk will come by and jack it one of these days.

I have a locking pin on the receiver hitch, but I leave my shackles on the front bumper all the time. Hasn't been stolen, yet, but I also keep an extra set in the tool box just incase I need more or the others go missing.

i put a screwdriver in mine and crank them down, if anyone is looking for a quick grab of my d ring its not going to happen.

Hitch stays in all the time. I used to take it out but got tired of putting it back in while towing. Just decided to leave it in. People love to steal stuff, especially easy thefts like this but it hasn't happened.....yet.

I leave an old hitch in at all times and put in a new one when I tow. Just in case I get rear ended the hitch takes the impact.

Nah, i tighten the D ring bolt with a screwdriver so people walking by cant just unscrew it without a tool.

I always leave my older beat up ball hitch in, its a good feeler gauge for off roading, if i hit that i dont have much more clearance. And if someone wants to bump the ass end of my truck that will get hit first.

Leave it in the recovery bag with the strap. Not useful without strap anyways. Why expose it to the elements or thieves?

And really you never want to keep one tight. When you need it you don't want to screw around with it. Keep it in a recovery bag. When you use it, tighten it all the way by hand and then back it off a 1/4 turn. The shackle will hold all day long and in the very remote chance that the shackle open slightly by being used, you can still get it off. If you use them as a fashion accessory thats different. If you are using as a recovery tool, your best bet is to keep them in your recovery bag. :)
