    Hi all,
I have a leak underneath my glove box. At first I thought that it had been coming from the drain hose underneath due to cloggage so I ran a air compressor through it and it is draining just fine. Taking a look at the fan underneath the cabin air filter there is evident water around it and so I suspected it to be something with that but I took my glove box off and looked underneath and up to the right there is a rusted out bracket and it is clear that there is a leak coming in from above it. Not sure if it is the windshield so I ran some foam and an air compressor under the windshield to see if air was coming through and nothing. I see that other's have a similar issue with the windshield but I am not sure that is my same issue. I am also an idiot with water leaks so any help is greatly appreciated, the nearest Toyota dealership is 3 hours away and a lot online have said they wasted money taking it to their leak specialists with no results on fixing the issue.

Has the windshield been replaced recently, and are you and your truck in a cold or warm climate?

I bought it a year ago in Arizona, currently living in Oregon in a cooler climate. I have not had it replaced since I have owned it.

There really isn't any other area water can intrude into the cabin through other than the windshield and the intake for the HVAC. You might want to remove your wiper blade arms and have a look under the plastic cowl below the wiper arms, between the hood and windshield. Investigate that area and maybe something will present itself.

I asked about what climate because I had a hunch you got it from somewhere dry and warm, and now you're either dealing with rain intrusion or snow melt runoff.

There are also markings on your glass (I believe all windows are etched with the Toyota name/insignia) so you might be able to determine if the windshield is OEM.

Oh yeah, welcome aboard, and good job posting pics right off the bat. Hopefully you get some more ideas and insight!

Air conditioning is venting water possibly?

If you look under the hood. On the passenger side if the firewall, about a foot down. You should see a black rubber tube sticking out of the firewall. It's about 3 inches long. That's where the water in the HVAC system drains. Blow it out with a little bit of air. It could be plugged up with dirt, bugs or other small debri.

I've had that plugged up before. Water builds up in the system. It can then get blown out in water droplets by the fan motor.

Can you hear any water sloshing sound while driving?

I’d have to disagree with that in fact there are at least 2 or more service bulletins dealing with leaks and one of them talks about leaking seam sealer. The other is antenna seal. Remove the wiper arms and the cowl and you’ll see the problem areas. Service bulletin also shows the areas of concern. If you do a search here I bet you’ll find more discussion and pictures, I posted a few of my own.

Thought about that, grabbed one end of it and shot an air compressor through it. Was hoping to hear it clear some gunk out from Arizona but nothing it was blowing straight air. I cannot hear any water sloshing around at all.

This person had a leak that looks similar to yours and it ended up coming from above the windshield in the area where the roof rack trim comes down, I seem to recall running across other threads about leaks in that area too. You could turn the blower on high (windows up, doors closed, and recirculate off) and spray some soapy water around the outside of the windshield and see if you get bubbles anywhere.

I myself have never done this.
I know the access cabs have cabin (pressure?) vents behind the rear seats.
Does this make any difference as to how well that would work?

Or do you guys block them off before trying this method?

Check the cowl under your windshield. I had the same problem when I ran the truck through the car wash. The passenger side drain under the cowl was full of leaves, sticks and dirt. Removed the blockage and no more leaks into the cabin floor. Check on Tacomaworld. There's tons of discussion about this leak. Hope this helps and good luck!

No need to block them, the blower on high (if everything's working correctly) will still generate enough pressure in the cab to force air out of any leakpoint.

I don't believe it was ever an option on 2nd gens.

My main guess would then line up with your roof rack holes reference above.

If the prior owner had a roof rack, removed to sell it and reinstalled the gutter/fascia/rubber runners without sealing the factory threaded holes with silicone or similar, it would leak every time the roof got wet
