So, last week I took my truck in to get my valve cover gasket changed, as I was too lazy to do it myself. They called and told me that the rear cam seals have to be changed. Cool.

So one week and $850 later, I notice that there is a new leak (that wasn't there last week) coming from my intake manifold gasket. Any ideas?

They didn't replace it, but had to remove/reinstall it when getting to the valve cover gasket. I was speculating that they put it upside down, but not sure.

Well there is nothing but air in there. Well and probably carbon. That is prob just from them cleaning with brake cleaner or some thing and some residual is it running fine?

Seems to be running okay. I also suspected brake cleaner, but that leak wasn't there when I received the truck back from them. It has a sticky/oily feel.

$850 and they didn't even replace the intake gaskets? Did they do both valve covers?

I wouldn't worry if its running fine. just clean it off & monitor just some residual from cleaning and reusing gaskets.

crank your truck up, and pop the hood. spray brake cleaner around it to determine if there are any leaks... we did this to make sure my spacer wasn't leaking after install...

those is interesting post. I have oil spraying a very fine mist from under the plenum on my 95 2.7l. I'm very befuddled as to why oil would be spraying from the plenum area. it isn't leaking from the head gasket, and I know it can't be leaking from the intake itself... so where would oil be spraying from?

Could be oil mist collecting from your PCV system.

If you do this, make sure it's flammable brake cleaner. A lot of the stuff is no longer flammable, ask me how I know o_O
