I'm looking for some advice on suspension repair/upgrade.

The rear of my '03 TRD with 115k miles sags like a 70-year-old roller derby queen. The truck rolls quite a bit in corners. I haven't touched the suspension, tires are stock size. The truck is no longer my daily driver and is used a few times a week, often to carry several hundred pounds of lumber or sand bags or whatever, and sometimes to carry camping gear. Once or twice a year it sees a muddy trail. So I'm looking for a decent ride, mostly on pavement or washboard, and durability/longevity in the replacement parts.

I definitely need leaf springs and likely shocks front and rear. There's a lot of stuff out there; what do you think are good options for my needs? And should I consider additional suspension parts?

Iwent with the Heavy Duty Springs From General Spring out of Kansas City

Then added Super Springs but I carry @ 1000 pounds each time the truck gets used.

I took mine to a spring shop and they re-arched the springs and added a leaf and replaced the bushings for $420. I thought that was ok. If I wanted another leaf to carry more weight, I'm sure they would have done that too. Most decent sized cities have a spring shop 'cause all trucks need springs

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, lots of options, lots of threads. It's overwhelming. The General Springs HDs look better than what my local offers. OME look like good options as well.

For the weight, OME Dakars. But you'll get some lift there. You could also go with OEM springs and airbags.

How much lift do you have in the front compared to the back? I have 3" in the front and want new leafs but no more that 1.5" of lift in the rear

never measured the back after the chevy leaf springs went in but I can do that when I get off work soon. Front was lifted right at 3"
Originally when stock, the rear was 1" higher than the front if that helps

oem or anything claiming to be oem equivalent are NOT good options, they are weak as shit and not worth buying so you want something rated above eom specs.

go with the general hd springs http://www.generalspringkc.com/product_p/90-237hd.htm
they add an extra 400 lbs load capacity for hauling stuff and ride great.

for the front just buy the Monroe all in one struts

    MONROE 171352L Quick-Strut https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?catalog=904&partnum=171352L&a=www.google.com+Search+for+MONROE+171352L&blanktemplate=true

    MONROE 171352R Quick-Strut https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?catalog=904&partnum=171352R&a=www.google.com+Search+for+MONROE+171352R&blanktemplate=true

then add a nice set of quality rear shocks

    GABRIEL G63494 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?catalog=962&partnum=G63494&a=www.google.com+Search+for+GABRIEL+G63494&blanktemplate=true

these parts will return your truck back to riding like brand new again without changing the ride height at all or spending a lot of money for fancy names on the boxes.

I just put this setup on my 04 and it rides like a Cadillac now

OME, not OEM. :) I had considered the Monroe route, but I'm a little concerned about longevity. Thanks for the suggestions.

I just installed the loaded Monroe Struts .

Getting the old ones off was a pain even with spraying with Kroil the top bolts all broke loose and just spun and needed to be cut off.

I did my lower Ball joints at the same time .

So are the only options out there for near stock height:

    Dorman/OEM stock

    OME Dakars

    General KC

    ?

    Thats the impression im getting.
