I was wondering if anyone has done a Leaf Spring delete on a 3rd gen and if it even makes sense to go go from leaf spring to a coil spring or full coil over setup? (planning long term)

What would you hope to accomplish with the swap?

Thinking more articulation, possibly rear axle swap for more strength. And general curiosity of what the options are.

Honestly I'm not really certain what the benefit of the rear-leaf spring setup outside of cost.

People have done 3 and 4 link suspension setups, yes. There’s a company that I forget the name of that sells a kit to convert to a 4-link. 4 link is typically better than leaf springs in almost every way

Technically yes, you can put whatever suspension and axle you want under any vehicle with enough work however you are better off just doing a shock relocation for more articulation.

The new 3rd Gen axle is pretty beefy on its own, no real benefit to upgrade unless you just want to or you decide to just cut everything up to run 40s.

I’ve been tinkering with another 14 bolt so I may still do it, mainly just because I want to.
