Can I run a 7 amp leaf blower with a 100’ 16/3 extension cord? Is there a possibility I could damage the leaf blower if the ext. cord ga. is to lean.

You won't damage the blower but there will be a voltage drop and performance will suffer a bit. Get at least a 14AWG cord if you can.

Yea that’s what I kind of thought. Thanks for the confirmation. More stuff for the shed.

Buy it now, not sure if the price increase has hit extension cords yet, but 12/3 wire has tripled in price.

That’s what I always did was used a 16ga with my leaf blower, but I had 2 leaf blowers die on me last fall and it got me thinking about the extension cord I was using.

For some reason you can find confusing info on the internet. LOL

What Load Can Each Gauge Wire Handle?
16-Gauge Cords: Any 16-gauge cord between 0 and 100 feet long will adequately handle tool loads up to 10 amps.
