Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I am curious a one Ton Tacoma was never a USA option was it offered as a model outside Conus?

Toyota cab and 3.4 swap on a one ton Chassis would be the easy way well worth the price if this is enticing Tacoma Lust in you .

    Not for my taste

The U-Hauls (the ones I can find pictures of, anyway) were 6-lug pre-Tacoma pickups.

Looks to me like an axle swap into a run-of-the-mill 5-lug Tacoma. The axle could have come from an old 1-ton Toyota chassis, though.

On second thought, I wonder whether the axle is even Toyota. It's got a bolt-on diff cover. Tacomas are welded. Anybody know what the Toyota 1-tons were?

Looks like maybe they took one of the older fiberglass campers at cut about 98% of it off.

The Toyota T100's had a 1 ton dually in early 90's.....
T100s are toyotas true first half ton truck.....Hilux are pretty much same....
the chicken law and cali emissions is why these are sold world wide....and not here...
A hint is about 95% of these are standard trannys outside of the US.....only the americans like autos.....

Think this one may of had engine swap to 4runner 6 cyl......
instead of the 3.0 one that used to eat head gaskets for breakfast.....

Really like that white Toy camper though, not so much for the 5 lug dually.

I see quite a few early 1st gens and 90s pickups with dually setups as gardener and contractor trucks in SoCal. Seems like a common swap to me at this point

Rockauto sells brakes for 1986 duallies, listing for cab and chassis as well as a camper. So they were available factory in both configurations.
