    Hello TW,

Did anyone here already use Lead Crystal Batteries, or heard about them?
It seems like these are the way to go for Overlanding and traveling over in Australia.
Also after reading the specifications, it seems like this kind of batteries are the ones we were all waiting for beside the very steep price.

Now my question would be if someone already bought them in the US and when where? I am asking because one of my Northstar X2 power batteries has died and I am looking to replace it with something else.

I have not seen a lot of those types of batteries used here. Would have to look at more of the modded set ups that run solar. Most just run a type of lead based deep cycle battery. 27 to 33 I believe.

I researched them after I read your post.

"Proprietary" technology phrase always means that we are the only ones that have the product and can charge whatever we want.

Competition always drives inovation to improve products. Thus prices become normalized. Industry always wants to sell lots of product at an attainable price vs a huge price to a small market. Production cost go down as market increases.

With that said, I feel a bit skeptical about all the advantages they claim. They claim a very long shelf life. Who has that kind of time to actually test what is available?

Are they even imported I can only guess the price would allow you to purchase a few AGM batteries

Warranty claim well ship the battery to us we will ship it back to the manufacture you should have a answer in 2 months or so.

Only to hear the manufacture feels it is user error that caused the problem we can however sell you a refurbished battery for 3/4 of new price plus a shipping cost of $150.00

I hear stories like this all to often

Yes unfortunately this is probably all right with warranty and so on.

I also read through a few foreign topics about these and there are a lot of people suspecious about the claims they make and just a few who own them which seems to be quite happy with their performance and say the claims seem to be right.

    What about www.lithiummoto.com ?

I’ve been eyeing these. Not lead crystal but perhaps we’ll built and not too steep. Very compact and lightweight as well.

Seems like these are only starter batteries with 16Ah, which don't have enough capacity to run all your camping gear over night or so.

When I get it right you normally should look for at least 100Ah to have enough capacity. With LiFePo4 you could have a little bit less, because they have a higher range to supply the needed power

Hmm. I’m no expert but doesn’t the nature of lithium ion batteries lend itself perfectly do full and repeated discharge cycles?

They def have bigger batteries than 100Ah...

I did some more research and came across LiFePo4 batteries to be a good alternative as well (changed the thread title because of this).

I just send a inquiry with some questions to Polinovel batteries over Alibaba.
From the information they provide on the Alibaba page they also seem to be interesting. And claim to have some well known customers listed (when true).

Does anyone have experience with LiFePo4 batteries or Polinovel for that matter?

So what do those batteries cost? I’m sure it’s a lot $$$$$$. Think I’ll stick with my Costco and Walmart batteries.

About the Lithium Battery I received this feedback and I thought it might be interesting to share

Also in Australia you can buy similar (or maybe the same?) battery for almost 2000AUD
