Who sold the most trucks in 2013 and 2012 in USA by volume? Does anyone know the answer for this?

Reason: Recently TRD pro build dates were released. Since then I have been in touch with dealers across USA as no one can find the exact truck I want (TRD pro, Inferno, 6 Speed Manual, DCSB)! All the way till Ohio from California. I have contacted about 35 plus dealers and “most claim” they are the largest in “whatever” area they are located. Well, who is the largest dealer for Taco trucks in USA (by volume)? I'm tired of "we will find the truck for you" and subsequent failures to follow through. I'm also tired of "Toyota builds whatever truck they want" and if we see one assigned in 250 radius "we'll get one for just for you".

Try Reno toyota. They're large enough that they have an entire parking garage behind the dealer to stock vehicles in

They all work off the same inventory database. Any dealer you go to will have inventory for all the Toyota dealers in the entire country. Just find a dealer you like working with, tell them the truck you want and they will get it. It might take a day or two or it might take months to get, but if Toyota offers it, they can get it either from current inventory or special order. If anyone tells you different then you need to find an honest dealer.

that's not entirely true - they work on regional inventory - For that truck you're going to have to order it, because if it exists it's been ordered for someone specifically. As for largest truck dealer, according to the dealer I bought from they are the largest Tundra reseller in the US, and since they are all of 10 miles frmo the plant that wouldn't surprise me.

Try calling North Park Toyota in san antonio, ask for Blaine, tell him you saw my mention of him on TW and he'll do what he can - they are NOT marking up the pro's but they are getting near sticker for them - so don't expect much discount if at all

There is no limit to the number of pros, so don't let a dealer tell you that crap - you can get a custom built one in as little 6 weeks.

that combo you listed will be next to non existent. the manual is what makes it impossible to find one.

there is only 3 across the usa in that exact combo and none in inferno red.

now if you take out the manual, then your choices jump to 5 across the usa.

Agree, I finally found two dealers (one in east and one is west) that are assigned by Toyota for manual. Apparently both trucks have deposit on them. However, I'm next in line for both....if one fails through, I will be flying there ASAP. There is some speculation as to how many TRD pro will be built in 2015. Some say 1500 ...
Either way, let's assume equal distribution of trucks between colors(Pro is available in only three colors, White, Black and Inferno). That makes it 500 for Inferno red. Assume 50% is access cab and other DC. So that is 250 DCSB will ever be produced in 2015. Moving on, in 250 DCSH configuration how many are manuals? Single digit probably. As of early this month, only two are assigned so far in entire USA. I will keep trying...

your best bet is the following.

put in a request for allocation of that exact config thru your dealer. they have a internal dealer website that they can connect to Toyota and put in a request.

what this request does is direct a particular config to a dealer once its built by Toyota.

I had to do this exact process with my 2014 4runner last august. now in my situation, my new car general manager actually let me input the options in the website since I have bought so many from him (ahem 13) so ymmv.

this is what dealers tell you when they order you a vehicle when it actually is an allocation request. when I ordered on 25-aug, hit port in early November, delivered to dealer on black Friday, picked up on dec-02.

Reno is a really really small city...Ive seen the garage full of trucks and cars but I doubt they are a top 10 in the country or even region.

Thanks, I'm actually working with a dealer in LA area(most promising lead so far without going to East coast). He is assigned a truck that meets my needs(Pro, 6 speed,DCSB). The local dealer here refused to take my order stating if I back out, no one buys manuals and he will be stuck with it:confused:...He said he can get automatic any time.

Yes, Texas (Dallas or Houston) was my next bet considering the amount of trucks sold there. In fact when I bought my F 350 Dually, I was looking exclusively in Texas.

don't come to MD... we're flooded with Toyota dealers. No matter which way you go, you can find another Toyota dealer within 25 mins of the one your at.

    That's what I did when I bought my '14; I went to 5 dealerships.

Why not just get a TRD off road and build it yourself? It is the best way to get the exact truck you want on a budget.

Sounds like you are being helped. If this falls through you should be able to go to any dealer and they should be able to special order one for you. You will have to be willing to wait patiently though. The problem is that Toyota distribution works through regions (aka ports), so there is another middleman in the way of getting something specific, but it is not impossible.
The difficult part is getting a dealer that is willing to go through the extra effort. Usually they don't get all the credit for selling transferred vehicles that they would get for assigned vehicles, so there is not much incentive for them to help you do a special order. You might have to put down a non-refundable deposit to show them you are serious (although it is my understanding that this is not legal in all states)

Check San Diego dealers. We get a lot of tacoma coming in to the port of San Diego then they put them on trains to distribute throughout the u.s. there are literally hundreds of them down there right now. I would imagine if they are landing here first an SD dealer would be able to get one. I will get a pic next time I'm down there.

    Check out these coordinates:

    Dropped Pin

    near 1751-1799 E Harbor Dr
    San Diego, CA 92113

    http://goo.gl/maps/KsPF2

with google maps or earth and you can see all the Toyotas in that yard. There mostly all tacos and corolla

Yes, did the math on it as well. Here is how is looks.
TRD Off Road: 33,xxx ( no price haggling as I'm asking for a manual and they need to custom order), mild lift/leveling $250 in parts($200 labor), shocks(not sure on price), Tires and wheels ($1500), Skid plates( $200), if I buy Navi from factor ($1200:I will not buy Navi from factory however TRD pro comes std so putting here for price comparison), warranty issues (if any is on me)
    Total: $36,XXX + tax etc

TRD Pro: Navi std, skid plate std, lift and better shocks std, cool color
    Total: $36,xxx +tax etc

So, TRD OffRoad is not a good deal in my case. Whereas, buying base package in 4x4 is another way but I will loose diff locks.
