Largest Spare in Stock Location

What are the chances a 315/75/R16 will fit in the stock spare location

 

I’m wondering if a 255/70R17 will fit too

 

285/75/17 will fit if you move hoist and bend the tire holder horns out. 315’s will not.

Yes, it'll fit.
255/85R16 mostly fit without bending the tabs. Tons of room after a little hammer time

That's alot of lost ground clearance in a spot you'd want it

 

I had zero luck getting my 255/80r17 to fit.
Im about to stuff it in there with about 10psi and keep an air compressor in the truck

 

33" seems to be the limit. Mine is snug on the sides. Can't imagine anything larger fitting

 

Looks like I'll be getting a Wilco Mount https://www.jegs.com/i/Tiregate/393...PtvVowSsZv2NlwnitZEJGZP59oBuWISxoC5EcQAvD_BwE which I won't leave on the truck all the time. Unfortunately, that leaves the OEM spare in place unless I want to stare at a TPS Light all the time. Does anyone know a way around this?

 

My understanding is the truck only holds 4 sensors at once, so there should be no light as long as the tires on the truck have sensors in them

 

285/75/17 is a 34".
It'll be nice if i can fit my 34" up there, I haven't tried yet though

 

According to the Tire size calculator, 285/70/R17 are supposed to be 32.7" tires. My measuring tape says 32". I have Mud terrain.

As you can see very little room left.

So just confirming, you have a 285/70/17 spare and it fits with no modifications, hammering, cutting, etc.?

I'm running on 285/75/17's but still have the OEM spare (265/65/17) and want to replace it with something bigger. I know the 285/75/17 wont fit in the spare well.

I run 265/75/16 Toyo Open Country M/T's and have this same tire and size as a spare under the bed of my 2017 TRD O/R. The spare fits perfectly with no need to bend or remove anything under the bed...

 

Keep in mind tire sizes change a bit from manufacturer to manufacturer too. I had Goodyear Ultra terrain AT that were a 1/2" narrower and about a 1/4" shorter than the same size Cooper ST Maxx.

 

Yes, but I did have to push. It is snug enough that it stays in place on its own. (not while driving of course.)
