Hey all, has anyone used or built a laptop stand for use in passenger seat of their 3rd gen?
As a “road warrior” sales person. I’m looking for something that can be quickly set-up to work from the road and also for web meetings.
This may be a solution from Amazon. Thoughts, suggestions, input?

RAM makes ones that bolt to passenger seats with a laptop tray, A lot of 3rd party manufactures do 1 inch ball mount accessories etc

Probably can find a lower priced adjustable arm and tray

That is fantastic....but a tad too permanent.. I suppose I should make one or buy something pre-made that sits on passenger seat.

I have a "Mountguys" flexible one. Simple 1" ball on top for my RAM mount which holds my Microsoft Surface.
Uses the seat mount bolts. No extra drilling or hardware needed. With the tablet holder removed (off of the ball) the passenger is not intruded upon much at all.
Just did a 500+ mile round trip with my Bride and she never once said anything about the vertical mount bar being in the way. She did complain about the seat not going back far enough to recline in. (I have a wood top platform behind the seat which limits rearward movement from full travel.)

Havis is the brand that most law enforcement use, but sounds like you are looking for something slightly better than a seat organizer.

Wow! That looks great...but i don't use a tablet. If I did, though that would work well.
I just watched a review of the Autoexec "Reach" on YT. Whatever I do, I will post the results and review.

Did you ever find anything. I work from my truck 4 days a week and I really need something for my laptop and mouse on the passenger seat.

I cannot find the purchase info, but I bought a stand, I think from Amz, but must have been gifted, because not in my history. Anyhow, was pretty highly rated arm, that bolts a small bracket to one of the bolts of the passenger seat, then the arm comes up to a nuckle, then outreach arm to a shoe (quick release latch bed) then has a laptop mount, which doubles as a small lunch table with 2x cup holders (completely hidden when the laptop is mounted. I have had this on two separate trucks, works great for my PM work in construction; but no mouse surface, use the laptop touchpad.

My laptop is HEAVY (gaming computed for heavy use of autocad), and the arm, though very nicely made, moved around too much, so I put a 1/4in hole in the bezel of the truck, and the lower vertical arm has a pin that enters the hole; making it very stable. the hole is in the plastic about the center nook, and the hole is not visible because it is under the bezel.

The tray removes in a flash of ease, and I rarely remove the arm. It does not interfere with the passenger at all, so I just leave it. Though it takes less and a minute to remove the whole arm too, no tools, so that the only part remaining is the small mount at the seat bolt. Probably had this close to 10 years now.

if you are interested, hope this is enough info to help.

Unfortunately, no. I just set it on my back pack when I need to do something from the truck. Not comfortable but I haven’t found a solution that doesn’t have a drawback. Not spending until I do.
