Anyone turn off the lane departure feature? Had no idea until tonight it was an option :). It's the little button bottom right in steering wheel on the 2020 TRD Off Road Model we have. Not certain if the 4x4 or other models have button same location.

Yup. I never use the LDA. You could also turn off the brake assist and adjust its sensitivity to what it thinks a braking event should be too. And did you know you can use cruise control without the adaptive feature by pressing and holding the CC button? And you can adjust the adaptive distance with the button next to the LDA button.

I only like LDA when its super late and I'm fatigued, otherwise it can fuck right off lol.

I have mine turned off, I've never been too keen on those types of features in vehicles I drive.

I was thinking about turning it on just to test it out.

Better than my wife's Forester, which actually nudges the wheel and hits the brakes if it doesn't like what's happening. We turned that off too.

Thanks dr4g1116, I had no idea! I just drive and figure everything is set as it should be. Now that I have some extra time I will be experimenting with the adjustments. I thank you!

Lol. Our since traded 18 Highlander had that feature. It really messed with me the first time it nudged the steering wheel. I wasn’t ready for that!

No problem! To add - adjusting the brake assist sensitivity is located in the menu on your dash!

It is a good feature for training a young teenager how to drive and stay in the center of the road. It is annoying when it is on but it does it's job

Mine seems to be super sensitive. Turned that shit off about 5 minutes from the dealer.

Waiting for all the comments about turning it off because it was annoying, and how they are a good driver and don't need it.

    Anyways,
The wifes highlander has it and we leave it on. The narrow two lanes in the country make you work for keeping your car solidly in the lane. It would be just fine but it randomly triggers off tar snakes and moves the wheel (but doesn't beep), other times it may beep (cutting a corner) but won't move the wheel. I still cannot figure out what toyota was trying to accomplish there.

I turned mine off on the drive home from the dealership but do turn it on on long drives when I expect to be tired. It doesn't do enough to be useful in my opinion and beeps too late once the truck is already over the line. I preferred the system in my Audi that would nudge the wheel back over to keep the car centered in the lane and would self steer entirely when using cruise control. I don't expect that out of my Tacoma that costs half as much though.

The LDA button stays off 100% of the time in my truck. Same with the auto headlight dimmer. Neither work worth a shit on curvy roads, which is most of my driving.

eh...a safe driver shouldn't need the LDA button.

My auto high beams is nearly flawless. After the lift it'll occasionally miss if I'm going downhill but 99% of the time it's perfect.

Mine blinds oncoming traffic at least 50% of the time on anything but a very straight road (and I get flashed many times, every time I’ve ever tried to use it). When it does work, it’s always a second or 2 slower than I would have done it myself.

A safe driver recognizes that they are not perfect 100% of the time. Its the unsafe drivers that think they don't need it and don't use everything they have available to be the bet they can be.
