Show off your personal or professional landscaping! Ask questions about plant choices, hardscapes, landscape designs & projects, landscaping tools, web sites, ideas, hopes, dreams, etc. If you have garden sheds, decks, arbors, outdoor rooms or any other outdoor projects please share!

While I enjoy gardening for the purpose of personal food consumption I like a well landscaped property. Please share what your landscaping world looks like!

Tacoma World has a Gardening Thread that sometimes drifts into the home landscape and plants that are used but that thread is primarily devoted to food gardening. Here is a link to that thread:

New house that we moved into summer 2022 built on 5.4 acres of land in the Maine woods. It is a blank canvas with no landscaping at all and literally not a rock on the property that is bigger than a grain of sand unless it was brought onto the property. The property has a high water table which will make landscaping challenging and unique.

    Before site preparation.

Thanks! We love being in the woods. The duplex we own is literally right next to I95 so we lived with traffic noises for years. This is a nice change. Deer in the yard, room for the dog and her humans to explore the woods and a blank canvas. It will be a lot of work but hopefully a lot of fun also.

It is nice especially if you hunt, trees are more appealing to see than neighbors...:anonymous:

While I have hunted as a kid it is not something that I have pursued as an adult. I firmly believe that if you are hunting then you should be eating what you hunt and since I am not it is not something I do. I do enjoy shooting wildlife with my camera though! We lucked out in regards to neighbors. We have a couple that live on the shared road that turns into a dead end and our driveway and both are very nice. The guy across the road is also very nice and plows, has a dump truck and an excavator. He is retired and VERY reasonable. He works to pay for his toys and because he enjoys it.

The summer after my first year of college I worked for a carpenter assisting him with adding a story and a half onto his personal house. I learned a lot and one of the things I remember best is that he told me, "A mistake is not a mistake if you can cover it up or fix it."

Finished this up at work a while back. I am in no way a proffessional landscaper.

Need another weekend of above freezing temperatures to get the rest of the plants in and to move the landscape rocks I found for free and to move the pile of crushed stone from where I plow snow. Pics of additional landscaping in progress.
