Hi I’m new to the forum and need some input. I’m doing work on the front end of my 02 Tacoma 4wd, which includes bearings seals, ball joints and control arms and steering knuckle on the RH side. It appears to have been in some kind of collision by the previous owner because both the lower control arm and knuckle was tweaked. My question is the new control arm has a threaded hole and an open slot where the bearing goes through. My original does not. Does anyone know what this slot is for? Does it have some sort of cover? Have I got the wrong knuckle? The new one is OEM purchased on line from Larry Miller Toyota. Thanks in advance.

ABS, you don't have it, so I'd make a small cover for it, use a 10mm bolt to hold the cover in place.

Or return it if they can still source a non-abs knuckle.

I kinda thought it might be ABS. I’ll probably just fabricate a cover plate. Thanks so much!

Look on your receipt. Did you get 43201-35071 or 43201-35081?

    -35071 is the non-ABS version: https://www.ebay.com/itm/384547119344

You had me confused when you said Control Arm then showed the Steering knuckle !

    Glad you figured it out.

Sorry? You’re right I meant steering knuckle, and it is P/N 43201-35081.
    Thanks!
