I am shopping for a Tacoma. Looked at a 2022 this evening. Are there any known common problems with 2022 Tacomas?

    Timing Chan cover leak.
    QI charging pad bubbles up.
Bed out of alignment from factory.
Rear bumper out of alignment from factory.
    If it’s white bad paint.
    Rolling back on hills.
    Automatic transmission hunting gears.

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

Just a few problems but it’s a good truck.

I own a preowned 21 with 34,000 miles on it. Only issues I’ve noticed is a squeak behind steering wheel in dashboard and weird vibration when in lower rpm’s. Other than that it feels solid and sounds healthy and drives handles smoothly! Refined it is not, but it’s a truck.

Exactly. Even with some minor issues you may or may never experience, they are still one of the best buys in mid size pickups

    I have two 22's
I have a 22 Tacoma sr5 access cab that has 53k miles since I got it new, nothing more than routine maintenance.
In fact, I like the access cab so much I recently bought a used 22 Tacoma Pro with 18k miles on it.
So far so good with both trucks.

    Years ago the mantra was:
    If it ain't Boeing I ain't going.

    Now the mantra is:
    If it's a Boeing I ain't going.

Pick your poison... ain't nothing being manufactured in this world that is as good as it was pre-covid.
Toyota was yesterday, is today, and most likely will be tomorrow the best you can get for reliability.

Ya know in Australia the blokes will tell you if you wanna go into the Outback you take a Range Rover.
If you wanna get back you take a Toyota....

As long as the original owner didn't do something stupid most likely it's gonna be ok.
Find a good independent shop and have them take a look at it.

Ah yes, the dripping of water onto the passenger floor from the hvac box. That’s the one that gets me the most.

With all the known issues it’s strange they show up enough to be noted but then they’re some with no issues whatsoever. Toyota is constantly preaching QC but it seems to never change. My 23 was on a sixty day QC hold at the port and when it finally arrived I had the following issues that I had to make the dealer repair.

    1. Bed out of alignment.
    2. Rear bumper out of alignment.
    3. Hood out of alignment
    4. Right rear door 1/4 inch low.

Toyota held my truck for sixty days and I have to assume they were hoping I wouldn’t notice these issues cause they didn’t bother to repair them.

Ray Charles could have seen the problems.

But I still love my Tacoma and all problems have been repaired.
