    I'm putting this here for reference in case someone needs instructions. It's a very detailed step-by-step that's pretty well documented. He does skip thermostat housing removal, but anyone attempting this repair probably can handle that part.
    It says 4Runner but it's the same engine.

    Just curious, did you replace the sensor(s) because the wiring fed the local rodents or a sensor failed?

    I replaced both sensors and the wiring harness (wrapped in rodent tape), plus new gaskets etc. The sensors could have been good, but I bought them just-in-case. The chewed wire looked like this....
