been looking into king kits and found this and was wondering if it would be best to buy the kit all together as well as if every thing here is necessary (shims and diff drop) for a 15 dcsb 4x4 or if it would be better to piece it together separately

There are a couple of vendors here that will sell you that kit. Check their web sites for prices.

Hit up @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc. They’ll most likely give you a TW discount and very knowledgeable with their stuff.

I just got the same King 2.5 OEM Performance Series Shock Kit for my 2013. I already had Light Racing SPC UCAs in the front and the same Toytec AAL in the rear. $3,710 for the complete kit with Total Chaos UCAs is a fair price.
King 2.5 front coilovers cost $1,600, rear shocks cost $940, new SPC UCA ball joint set and bushing set cost $260, installation plus alignment and sales tax cost $500. $3,300 total cost in CA.
(I did edit this for better clarification)

I wouldn’t do a diff drop, especially only lifting around 2”

They charged you 8-900 for install of coilovers and rears only? Cuz King fronts are 14-1500 and the rears are 8-900ish for a total of 2500ish at full retail.

Install is fairly easy. Just grab a friend, it helps to have 2 people especially when removing/reinstalling the UCA bolt. Other than that part everything was straightforward. And make sure you use a torque wrench

To answer your question, your 3700 price is

    1500 front coilovers
    900ish rear shocks
    800ish for ucas
So the add a leafs and hardware have to be $400.

If you can find those extra pieces any cheaper, Id piece it together. That kit is nice and convenient, but it isn't an exceptional deal. With a little effort you could prob get full up dakar leaf packs and come in for the same price.

With UCAs and at SoCal prices that would make a bit more sense. But he said he already had the ucas.

I had coilovers, ucas, rears, dakar leafs, and extended brake lines plus bleed and alignment done for 650 in the Salt Lake City area. I don't miss living in Socal one bit.

I got a diff drop kit, and didnt install it. The guy who did my install is pretty popular in the SLC toyota community, and said hes never seen a truck that needed one.

Yeah that’ll hurt your pocket. 99.9% of my truck was me wrenching it and wiring everything except cutting my front bumper bc I don’t trust myself to cut a straight line. Saved me a lot of money for other mods
