Kill switch wired to auto trans neutral safety?

    I want to install a hidden toggle kill switch, I have an auto transmission, so Im thinking a switch wired to mimic the truck being in gear, has anyone done this?

    Just wire in a fuel cut-off switch if you're worried about it being stolen.

    The problem with fuel pump switches is that you have to design the whole toggle system to handle that constant power - from what I have read you should use a relay or the toggle will burn up (according to some stories Ive seen at least), once you add a relay then the whole setup gets really complicated.

    The neutral safety switch seems cleaner (in theory at least) as you dont have to deal with managing constant power through your toggle setup. Just not sure where to start in wiring a setup like that.

    This is from the 1996 FSM. It shows a wire from the switch to the starter relay. I'm no electrical expert, but you might try to locate this and interrupt it and see what happens.

    Thanks. This is why I wanted to do this as a simple interruption would achieve the goal. I am horrible at wiring diagrams too, do you think the "B-R" means the wire is black/red color?

    Why not just interrupt the ECU Signal to the circuit opening relay? That would prevent power from being sent to the fuel pump.

    All you need to do is break the ground side of the circuit opening relay coil done

    So I assume the ECU signal is some kind of low voltage? Again, don't want to mess with any hot wires, what about ground as has been suggested? My main concern is that whatever is done does not hurt the relay over time, but I guess if were mimicking a stock process that would be fine.

    I believe signal is a very low amperage 12v signal, just enough to keep the coil engaged.

    Thanks, I saw online most of these fuel relays are a green box, but just looked under my dash and I dont see anything like that unfortunately, any idea what to look for?

    The fuel relay is called the circuit opening relay. It is green. You might have to remove the driver’s side HVAC duct to find it.
