I'm hoping like hell that one solobaric 8 in a kicker matched enclosure, appropriately powered by kicker DSP amp will scratch the itch. I don't expect anything impressive, I just want "enough."

Have you though about adding a second 10 inch with passive radiator? I was going to do 2 i inch versions but I think I am leaning toward the L7T now.

Ya know I did but I think unfortunately with the seat belt positioned where it is I don't think I could get a second box in there. If I could I think that would be a slam dunk proposition, I do like what I have now I would just like some more output.

Oh really (regarding seatbelt)... with my tax money coming I was going to do two 8's of the ones you have with the radiator or two L7T 8's. I am afraid to get just one as i will crave more output as well. I need to cut my shelves out still also.

I know the two comp rt 8s with the radiator just fit, I saw a YouTube video of a guy that had that exact setup in his quicksand tacoma. He seemed pretty pleased with the results. However, he was barely able to fit the box behind the drivers side rear seat, he said he had about an inch to spare.

Oh! I forgot to get back about it, I'm sorry!
I love it. It has way more output than I would have expected from an 8" sub, the kicker grille solves the surround contact issue perfectly with no interference issues anywhere and the box in super snug when it's seated down in place, its not going anywhere. I am reminded it's an 8" when you would expect to- the sweep changes a little bit with the seat folded up and while it's pushing like hell, it runs out of output at the very bottom of a bass sweep. Now, that's me being very critical of it, i know it's a tiny sub, but I have to say that I actually started laughing when I was running the bass sweep for the kicker key setup, for a sub that small and in what I consider a reasonably priced loaded box, its a mean little bastard! I'm very pleased it, the key amps, the focals and so glad the JBL wasn't available with a manual transmission, otherwise I wouldn't have done this. :D

Thanks for the reply. If you like it this much with one sub, and I want to do 2 of them, it should blow me out lol.

A note of context that I forgot: my goal was sound quality, not SPL. I absolutely got it.

    To your post:
Well, be mindful of the cost to benefit ratio there. For the 500 bucks involved in two, I'd go a different route and either remove the rear bins all together and make one big, all inclusive box for a 10 for lower, 12 for loooow, or maybe an 8 and 12 if you were really going nuts.

I praise it so highly because of the perfect, drop-in fit and yet it'll still do some real work. Its a great SQ sub. You can pop the seat forward and pick it up and out like it was never there. To me, theres a huge value in that. If you've had oem high end audio in vehicles before, it's like that and a decent bit more. With the sub there and the amps and fusebox in the driver's side bin, with the seats up you can't see a thing, theres nothing to get kicked or wet under the seat.

I wish the 10" would fit without destroying the bin, but that's not possible. If you could find a spare or are willing to cut the front and bottom of the bin out, the 10 would or maaaaybe the 12 would fit. The 12 is probably the best cost to benefit ratio of them all but its definitely really big that area of our trucks.

I think height is the problem with most boxes

The 10 would clear on height but the base is way to big for the bin. The 12 would require removing the panel, still may not fit, I didn't even bother to look.
