Problem is the Mounting Depth. I know @Mr Marv makes speaker adapters, but not sure if it would help.

What is wrong with the mounting depth? Are they just too deep, even with the metra mounting brackets?

Where do you want to install them? According to Crutchfield they are eight hundredths (0.08) of an inch to deep. You probably could fashion your own bracket or search for one. But there are other Kicker DS model speakers that fit the lower front and rear door. There is no need for a 3-way in the lower front because of the tweeter. It is also really easy to add a tweeter in the back, or combine a component speaker. Also, we are getting really close to sale season and Crutchfield usually offers great deals. If you can wait a 2 months, I would.

I just put KS series (which are a step up from the DS) in last weekend in my front doors. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20647KSS67/Kicker-47KSS6704.html?tp=105. Got them on cyber Monday deal for like 60% off last year.

I was just looking at the DS because of a quick google search for good 6x9 speakers, and I liked the review. How's the bass on the KS series? I'm not looking for sub-like quality, just need a little kick while I'm saving for all the things I'll need for a custom sub enclosure I'm building.

The KS is nice because it comes with the in-line crossovers. They have three settings, low, mid and high which allocates power to the tweeters accordingly. I have mine set on the mid and loving it but you could go more punchy or less if you wanted to. I'm thinking I will stick with KS for my rears and then put in an 8 or 10 inch sub. You got an access cab? Curious about your sub enclosure.

Yep I've got an access cab and the box isn't made yet. Have you seen dog shelves people have made to rest on the seats? That's what the top will look like pretty much. I'm going to take out the seats (I never use them, they stay folded down to give me a shelf) and build a downward facing sub box in the foot well with the top being a shelf that goes on top of where the seats went. I'm putting 2, 8" shallow mount subs in it. I'm not a huge fan of shaking my vehicles apart with 2 15s, so those subs will be perfect for me.

I'm basing it off of this one someone built on a Facebook group page I follow. Although mine will look a little better.

Nice, yeah the jump seat delete seems to be the most practical option. Although gosh, this summer even with rona I've had quite a few passengers in the back, those poor butts. So I'm still on the fence. But agreed, there is definitely a threshold where these small cabs get blown out.

Again, I highly recommend waiting for Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend sales, if you can. I got my head unit for 50% off and my speakers for 60% off.

Yea it wouldn't be the best option if you take more than 1 passenger often. Normally if I'm with a group we take their cars lol saves my friends the pain of my back seats. You could also make a single sub box that goes right on the hump in between the seats. Also my speakers are pretty far gone and I need music when I drive lol can't make it another month and a half of these.

Yea... but on a side note I ended up going with your suggestion of getting the KS series instead
