    Hey all,

My 3rd gen is telling me the the battery in my OEM key fob is low.

Does anyone know what kind of battery is in there, and have any of you cracked the case to replace it yourself?

    Thanks!

Have you checked the owners manual?

There should be a little slot along the top of the fob that you can use to pop it open (it is underneath the top of the key). It is pretty easy. Put the end of the key in the slot and twist and it will open.

Turn off your fob by holding down the lock button while you press the unlock button twice. You'll see the red light blink a few times. You'll know the fob is off if your truck doesn't automatically unlock when you grab the door handle. To turn the fob back on, press any button. Do this to save battery life, and more importantly, to stop a thief from downloading the signal transmitting from your fob and downloading it to a blank fob.

My 2016 fob uses a cr2016. Easy to replace.

My 2022 uses a 14FBB FOB, but it's the same as the 14FBA version with respect to replacing the batteryu.
    This video will help. https://youtu.be/4NSG2-TQFpA
    Yes CR2032 is the battery.
When you insert the key into the horizontal slot, you will have to rotate the key slightly to get the halves to come apart.

Cr2016 or cr2023. Buy the little blister packs.
