I just bought an aftermarket head unit kit off ebay, Kenwood dpx501bt and installed it today.
I heard that some people were having problems seeing the display in sunlight.
It's true that it isn't as bright as at night or in a garage but I had it out in the sun today and could see it fine.
Now, I have tint on my windows but not on the windshield and its only 35%.
My phone which is Android doesn't connect via the USB cable but works great through Bluetooth.
The Pandora part of the unit works great through the standard app, and the iheart radio part u need to download the iheart/Kenwood app to us it through the unit.
The unit could be easyer to install, but that wasnt the head units fault.
the Scosche TA2053B Radio Dash Mount Kit didn't give any info on how to mount the unit to it before it goes in the truck.
In the case with this unit, there are 8 or so threaded holes on each side of the unit and slots on the peaces that connect to the new dash part.
I found there to be 3 holes on each side that lined up nicely to the slots( wish I had a pic ).
All and all, its a great setup for a great price.
I'll most likely post an update in the future, so check back then.

    Some pics to come...
