I recently picked up a relatively low mile Duramax. The dealer put new tires on it right before they sold it. While I don't think I would have ever purchased them myself, the Kelly Edge AT is a tire I had looked at before. For all practical purposes, these are the Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunners, with just a slightly changed tread pattern and sidewall. I actually prefer the look of the Edge over the Adventure, at least to me, they appear a little more aggressive. The ride is comfortable and fairly quiet, although with a slight amount of wiggle/float. Some of that could be attributed to the worn shocks, but if you grab individual tread lugs and wiggle them, they are pretty soft. I don't have much off road experience with them yet, but the little I've been on the dirt they seem adequate. Depending on how similar to the Goodyear TrailRunner they are, I'm not expecting the longest tread life. These photos were taken after about 500 miles of use.

    5,000 Mile Update:
After a few more miles, including a 2,000 mile road trip towing my 5k pound travel trailer, there is finally some measurable wear. It is nearly imperceptible, but the tread depth gauge doesn't lie. The rears have lost 3/32nds, now down to 12 from the original 15.

Through this time they have been perfectly adequate. They are not loud, they don't shake, they don't track weirdly. Traction has been usable on all terrains tested (still no sign of rain or snow here in the desert). My only legitimate gripe is that the tires do love to hold on to gravel for a long time, often spitting out the rocks at highway speeds 5 to 10 miles later. My only illegitimate gripe is that they are just boring. There's no flair to the design, and they are easily overlooked as an all-terrain.

Time will tell how long they hold up, but at least for now, I can recommend the Kelly Edge A/T if you are in the market for a no frills, non-aggressive, US made budget tire.

I've got another 1,000 miles or so on these tires, now with some work off-road and I'm actually surprised at how well they are handling for a "budget" AT. Even with the high torque and heavy weight of a diesel 3/4 ton, they grip the dirt roads very well and have shown no signs of chipping or chunking over sharp rocks. There's no discernible visual difference since the last photos I posted, so there's no reason to ad any to this update.

Also, the "floaty" feeling I had initially can definitely be attributed to absolutely toast factory shocks. After a 5100 upgrade, everything is smooth and controlled.

Thanks for sharing. Thorough, well-considered "Review" posts like this don't get many replies but they are invaluable to people considering the product.
