Has anyone had this loud kazoo noise coming from there 2016 tacoma. I see from all the posts that this is very common but they are all from 2015 and earlier this noise is driving me insane on my 2016 trd sport

Are you sure it's not more like a Howling noise that happens between 35-45mph? If so, this issue was resolved by a simple hole plug you purchase from a hardware store. I suggest reading the thread below.... Post #161 gives you details as to what you need to buy.

Have you moved the mirror around and checked for foreign material? Sounds like a noise a leaf could cause or even a piece of ribbon if the dealer had a balloon tied to the mirror at one point. I'd fold it forward and backward and check all around that joint.

Toyota's factory race teams are titled Gazoo Racing. Wonder where that name came from?

Try some painters tape across the top window gasket on the outside. It flaps like the reed in a kazoo. I had it replaced twice in my 07 before the noise went away. Knowing Toyota, they didn't fix it

It's the drivers side rear view mirror ... wind noise. Turn up the radio=problem solved!

There are (2) different noises that are pretty common.

1st is the howl noise. That comes from the holes lower control arms. You get plugs from Lowes, or about any hardware store and plug them off. There is a big thread on this I will link. It comes in and out at anywhere from 30 mph +. Made worse by cross winds.

    Howl link:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/solved-howling-noise-between-35-45.410480/page-15#post-12334437

2nd noise is the "kazoo" noise, which in my truck is only in very windy conditions at high speed. That noise is from the door jam area on the driver side about head height while sitting. That is solved by inserting a small piece of flexible tubing inside the weather stripping. Apparently this issue is also on the 2nd gens. Here is the link for that one:

The 3rd one is the kazoo from the outside drivers side rear view mirror! This happens on my truck from say 25-40mph and changes if its windy, it definitely comes from the mirror, I think the wind blows between the post and mirror where the hinge is and kinda whistles but a lower frequency.

The kazoo I have experienced is the door seal on the drivers side exactly as @el_smurfo mentioned. I only (and rarely) get it during strong cross winds, and usually on the highway.

I would try his suggestion so it can't flap like a reed...if it stops, then you got it. If it doesn't, focus on the mirror like some others are saying. I have had 0 issues with any mirror noise...mine is all due to the outer rim of the seal on the window that sits "flat" against the painted surface.

As far as the A-arm noise. It is totally different and not like a kazoo.

I also get the highway kazoo on the drivers side. Only with wind gusts strong enough that I have to correct steering. My truck was in for low trans fluid a couple days ago and I asked about it. Toyota is working up a recall for this. Something to do with the seals. I wouldn't do anything too drastic in the meantime
