Obviously we all know that after market cold air intakes don't do anything but bark for our trucks. That being said anyone whom just has one of the drop in air filters for their stock Cai, which is better or they both the same, how do you like it and is it worth it over the stock drop in filter? From what I read the K&N filter has some oil that messes with your MAF sensors where as the AFE Pro dry filter doesn't have any oil.. that's about the only difference I see. Any suggestions, comments or concerns on the subject?

Noise makers that do nothing for HP or MPG gains, stick with the OEM Paper filter.

I'd like to know if either give you quicker throttle response. Really all I'm looking for.

This has been talked about for years on TW, it is just a noise maker and nothing else. ZERO GAINS on any topic.

they work, but don't add enough power to even notice anything. it's mostly placebo effect. also, they allow more dirt into the engine. I've rebuilt 2 strokes and 4 stroke atv engines and i have used k&n. they work, but don't filter well at all. allow more air sure! but dirt will show up as high silica on your oil analysis.

they will add hp up top for sure. @moe2o4 dyno'd his 4 banger 2016 and he got results. not enough to feel it, but he had it combined with a LCE header. I think he got 16hp total.

True, but one of them is worse and that's k&n, using oiled filters is asking for problems.
The only realistic reason to use these filters is that they're reusable, otherwise stick with oe imo.
My trd came with trd pro panel filter, didn't ask for it they threw it in there. I can't hear it I can't feel it, once it gets dirty I'll go paper element
