I'm looking for reasons to get one versus the other. My one big concern is the K/N dont have an actual box, just the heat shield. Iv heard this can be an issue for offroading, and that it will actually pull in warm air. Yes im going for more noise. Smiles per gallon

Stock is already a CAI. You won't notice any power gains but you'll notice the sound is different.

Keep in mind the more "air" it lets in, the more particles it lets in, so if you off-road at all, it may not be a good idea as a lot of dust can slip through the filter.

Also stay away from the reuseable oily air filters as they gunk up a lot of MAFs. Previous owner tossed one on mine and I had to toss it out after it kept giving me engine codes.

S&B is a pretty big box and takes up a lot of space under the hood, I can't install it with my ARB compressor mounted on my slee bracket. AFE momentum dry filter seems the way to go for aftermarket.

Keep the stock stuff you have and spend the money on something worth it. Nothing but a noise maker, with zero gains in MPG. HP, or Performance.

I was actually just going to pull the trigger on a reusable oil filter. Should I get the dry reusable filter instead?

You don't think a reusable Dry filter is worth it? To avoid purchasing the disposable filters?

I've heard that the AFE dry filter works good. Never had experience with it though.

Some might say yes and some might say no. I keep the paper one's on hand, as that is what is meant to go in there. But to each their own.

Then just buy a trd air filter and intake flow accelerator tube like 70 dollars.

Then any after market air box with a dry filter will work, since it's just noise cheaper the better.

If you have the 3.5L you can just use these instead of buying the whole TRD CAI.
