:help::annoyed:Ok, in my last thread I got the help I was needing. I now need help/information on whether or not the YouTube videos I've come across will be the ones that I need to guide me as to how to install a K&N black hawk cold air intake system on my truck. If they are not then PLEASE advise me or give me links to videos, but please DON'T be rude. I am a female and I don't want to rely on my hubby to do the upgrade to my truck.

I wouldn't expect to get a warm welcoming on a cold air intake on this website, there's a lot of people who will ream your ass about it. But the instructions should be included

Why would they ream my ass about it? What's wrong with a cold air intake system?

The truck already has a cold air intake system... stock. It draws cool air from outside the engine compartment. Replacing it with aftermarket is fine, just don't expect any gains in mpg or power because it won't happen. In addition, the filter that is used on the aftermarket unit could cause problems if you ever had a engine specific warranty claim. A guy had to pay for his own engine after it was found that the aftermarket filter he was using let fine dust into his intake. Warranty denied. As far adding any power or efficiency, there have been documented dyno runs with our trucks with running stock intakes, aftermarket intakes and even no filter in the intakes and... there was no difference.
Now, what you will get is a different noise! That's it. These are the facts. No opinion, no advertising blurbs, no emotion, just fact. However it's your truck. Mod it how you wish. Good luck and have fun!

it's the internet, everyone's a tough guy behind the keyboard.

nothing wrong with an aftermarket setup just don't expect much if anything from it
other than a "better" sound and your butt telling you it's a bit quicker. Many of us
    have them and like them.

did it not come with a step by step installation manual? serious question cause all of the intakes I've bought have had pretty clear instructions.

install is very easy. I'm selling mine to prep for a snorkel, but I have the instructions. Better yet, if you return yours you can buy mine for cheap :) I have it listed in classifieds

Install is easy. But it’s pretty stupid. I got mine because “TRD” looks better under the hood. But I feel absolutly nothing and zero to 60 is the same.

just returned this K&N intake myself, made the throttle response real stiff and slow after a months use. no noticeable mpg gain either, shame because it was great at first.
