i bought a jvc kw-adv65bt a while back and love it..

just hooked up the rear view camera per the instructions i found on the site here..

now i want to do the steering wheel control

what i bought so far is the aswc-1 unit along with the adapter 120-70-8114 from crutchfield.

and i have no idea what in the hell to do with any of this crap.. there is no place for the 3.5mm plug to go into the radio.. that is what is stumping me right now..

has anyone done this with the components i have listed

Its hard to tell on the picture from Crutchfield's website, but is that the 3.5mm input next to the three yellow composite inputs?

FYI there is a no cut harness for 2010 Tacoma 20-pin. Also one for 2013 exists from metra axxess but gotta buy direct or order since crutch field and best buy don't seem to carry it [yet]

I found the answer!!!! Depending on the make of the aftermarket radios, you can use a female 3.5mm cable for the new AXCSS's 3.5 male connection. I found one at my local car audio store for $5.00. For most current JVC single dins stereos still have the blue/yellow steering wheel wire, so you will be connecting to the brown wire only. The female 3.5mm female cable has a (brown/white) and a (brown) cables seen below.

Again you connect the JVC's steering wheel (brown/yellow) wire to the female 3.5mm connector's (brown) wire only!
So tape or close the (brown/white) wire since we are not going to use it.

Attached is the AXCESS steering wheel built in Harness with the interface. It is a PDF file.

READ PAGES 6-7 for instructions of how to connect the steering wheel wire to others radio models.
