Thread for any auto shop employee members to post those "just rolled into the shop" pictures and videos. I'll start off with some of my own.

"C/S I just had my wheels balanced and there's still vibration"

"C/S I feel a jerk from the engine when driving"...Yeah you're missing a motor mount dude

    https://youtu.be/tAx2wGMWrbk

Customer came in for 4 tires, I found this while putting them on...Lowered Miata that had wheel spacers. He had lowered the car only to find that when his suspension compressed, it hit his tires, so he had literally shoved pieces of plastic and foam into his springs to keep them from compressing, then tied a piece of wool around the spring with string to keep all the pieces in. It was unreal, I've never seen anything like it.

This guy surprisingly wanted us to put a tire on a new wheel. I didn't see the problem

Eclipse came in for all kinds of things, luckily he also wanted tires. Incredible how worn down these were, but more incredible how even the wear was. If you look close enough you can see where there actually was normal tread a long, long, long time ago.

Guy came in for balance. Some shop had balanced this dude's wheels and used clip on weights on the outside where the wheel was not designed to...They had also clipped a weight to the c-clip of the center cap for some unknown reason. The cap and c-clip wasn't broken so not sure if they were trying to balance by putting weight in the center cap...

"Should I buy a new terminal? Nah, I'll just shim this one with a screw"

And finally, the good ol' insulting shop test...

I had wondered if people actually did this to try to scam a shop.

Yeah I guess they're either doing a "test" to see if the shop is trustworthy or attempting a scam, who knows
