Like title states. I just pulled the trigger on 4 Bronze Method 308 Roost wheels for my 13’ dub cab 4x4.
    Wheel specs:
    17x8.5
    0mm offset
    4.75ish backspacing

    Questions!!!
Do I need to order some hub bore (hub-centric)spacers? 108mm to 106mm

Also what style lug nuts work best on the 308’s?

New to this forum and very greatful of all the knowledge you all bring to it.

You won't notice that hub bore difference so no need for hub centering rings which I assume is what you are talking about.

Here are some good lug nuts you'll need ET style for Toyota so there is enough thread engagements.

The site I ordered the wheels from said hub bore size was 108mm. Ended up that the 17” X 8.5” lug pattern 6x5.5 come with 106.25mm. Perfect fit. Used the suggested Black ET spline lugs.

Over all very satisfied with the results. Now suspension work!!

Quick review and info for anyone looking to run this set up on a Tacoma.

    17x8.5 Roost wrapped in 265/70R17

    Suspension & Rubbing:
Running on stock SR5 4x4 suspension with a little bit of rubbing on the front mud flap. I ended up removing flaps and sanding down the area. (See photo) Rubbing seems to be gone or so light I can’t hear it anymore.

    Balancing:
I used 5oz of balancing beads per tire. No ugly sticker weights!!

    Hub centric? KINDA:
My Toyota hub measured 106.10mm give or take. The Method 308 Roost hub bore measured 106.25mm give or take. Not enough room to run rings but still enough room to give you steering shake.

    Lug Nuts:
I used 12x1.5 ET splined lug nuts (see photo)

    Criss-cross Tightening lugs:
The tire shop didn’t take time to criss cross tighten them to truly center the wheels. My drive home on the highway I had some pretty good steering shake from 50ish to 70ish. At home I reinstalled each wheel with the proper criss-cross method. (See picture). Take your time hand snug the lugs then 1/4 turns at a time and give the wheel some good shakes as you tighten it up. Torque them at 85 ft.*lbf.
Tested it on the highway and all steering shake/vibration is gone. Smooth sailing!!

Update: ended up pulling the beads and went to the traditional weights on a road force balancer.

    Beads were inconsistent.

I was getting ready to reply that the .15 of Hub bore difference wasn't going to be enough to cause a shake especially with ET lug nuts since they will lug centric the wheels even better than standard acorn style. Beads are never perfect. I always tell guys they aren't worth running until you get up into the 37+ size tires and even then they are inconsistent. They don't always settle where they need to to balance the wheel and tire assembly well. Just those larger sizes usually end up asking for a lot of weight balancing them the traditional way.

I agree .15mm is very minimal. Only can measure with feeler gauges. But I was very surprised how much steering shake was eliminated with retighting the et lugs.

The methods are not a snug hub fit like the oem wheels. But they are damn sexy tho. satisfaction.

After driving for a bit any new wheel needs to be retorqued because the lugs seat themselves into the wheels. That vibration was probably more due to the lugs than hub bore issues.

Never had so much new wheels and tire balancing problems with my past 12 vehicles. But they are all balanced now and rolling smov.

I also have these rims but in black. Make sure that if the black center cap is ever removed you securely replace it. I have lost three of them due to them not being replaced correctly.

Completely agree! When I removed the snap in black plastic center caps to apply some decals, I noticed that they are barely holding on. And when reinstalling you have to really push down on all clip areas to make sure it’s fully seated.
