Interested in a 30" light bar, but honestly I can barely tell the difference between a Cali raised 5d and a rigid E series light bar. Obviously products are priced based on a lot of things, but as far as quality is concerned, how the hell do you justify $1k on an LED light bar? how is the product different from its $300 counterparts? wtf is going on here?

So the consumer just gets a little more light output for an extra 250% investment. well suck me beautiful!

Probably setting myself up for major trollage here, but fuck it, I haven't seen this discussed anywhere else yet. What are the alternatives?

You answers will be subjective. I'm not familiar with Rigid lights but I would never pay $1k for a lightbar.

I bought Rigid pods for $230. They have been submerged, in rain, in fog, etc.. no issues.

I also bought an Amazon $30 light bar, didnt even wire it to anything, just mounted, had condensation inside the glass within 2 weeks. But I exchanged it for another one, no issues. On the second one, I re-siliconed the end caps.

I also would not pay $1k for a light bar. But I have paid $250 for a "better than amazon" one..

Bull bar, but more to come
http://wickedlightbars.com/ has great looking stuff made here in the US for a fraction of the cost of a rigid and they still offer lifetime warranties

hell you can pay $1,200 for some of their lights... the more I look at thier web site and see all the monster bros the less I want to give them my money, even if their product is twice as good as the next.

In all seriousness though, I want to like rigid because its already on my truck and I really like the midnight edition blackout lenses, but that price though.

I'm leaning towards a cali raised 5d, anyone know of something similar to compare?

I don't think I would ever pay the premium for Rigid. I had Totron lights on my Tundra for 3 years and not a spot of moisture. I think their 30" bar was about $200.

I picked up Mictuning 30" bars for my Tacoma for about $80 each so we'll see how they do. They're behind my grill so pretty well protected to begin with. I consider light bars a convenience item and can't justify dropping top dollar on them since they don't get used too often.

Also I have Baja Designs pods in my fog lights and those were about $220 for the pair and I think those are worth it for the interchangeable lenses plus amazing light output.

I have a 30" rigid radiance and it's pretty good as far as light output and quality. In addition, I have baja design squadron pros.
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
Getting knockoff leds can lead to poor sealing and poor aim for the leds. There is a reason why rigid and Baja designs are great; r & d.

3 of my 5 rigids now have water in them (one is my 20 inch bar, and half of it goes out from time to time). Going to replace with Baja and get them repaired and sell them.

    See build thread
We offer a couple of different options in 30" as well, but if you are trying to keep the budget down @ATR55 , then I would look at our C-Series. Our 30" C-Series produces 16,200 lumens and has a beam distance of 1129 meters (3704 ft). These of course come with our 23 year warranty which covers the light and harness etc. (Cali Raised does not cover everything) in the event that it has a manufacturing defect in material, electronics and/or workmanship.

Here is a thread I just made about the C-Series with a lot more information if you're interested!

Here's a link to the product.

So they can break a lot of lights because they charge everyone the operating budget of Trinidad for a light bar/pod?
Did anyone else hear the sound of a cash register with every hammer swing?
