Hey guys, I just thought I’d share a little bit of info on the wireless charger I just installed in my Tacoma. There isn’t a whole lot of info out there on the product so I decided to make a quick review and post it on YouTube in case any of you might be interested. It’s made by Scosche part # is TAQ02

    Here’s a link to the device... https://www.crutchfield.com/p_142TAQ02/Scosche-TAQ02.html?search=scosche_taq02&skipvs=T

    This is my review... https://youtu.be/af6PsMg6vns

Like I mentioned in the video, installation instructions that came with the product has you taking you whole truck apart to access the connection for the power, I was able to get it installed with minimal part removed which made the installation so much simpler. I’ll post a link to a tutorial I created in case any of you want to look it over.

Tutorial link... https://www.dropbox.com/s/1c29r9ofy...ss charger installation instructions.pdf?dl=0

Anyway, I’m quite happy with it, but it’s only my opinion! Check it out and if you have any question just let me know.

Does this work if your phone has an otter box case or anything like that?

Mine work fine with a Magpul case, at least they do with my Samsung charger at the house. Not using the USB port greatly extends the useful life of my phones, the port usually starts getting picky right around the time the battery starts to lose charge time and I have to charge it more often...

I need to figure out a way to mount a charging plate onto my phone holder, having to sit it where I can't see it doesn't appeal much to me.

Thanks! Check out the website, they mat have something for the Rav

    Thank you!

Not sure, my case is thin. I'll have some buddies try their phones out with different cases and let you know

I'm sure with a little creativity you can put the actual charging pad someplace that works out better for you

    Thank you, any time!

NICE! I looked at these about a year ago. Unfortunately, they appear compatible only with auto trans consoles, not 6MTs like mine.

Yea, that's why I wanted to make mention of that in the video. Hopefully you'll find something else that works

That is a *really* good idea, and timely too. This weekend I'd planned on installing a new head unit into my boy's white truck, along with a USB charging port in that general area. I may go this route instead. Good thinking.

    Leer,

Really interested in this, thanks for the post. I wasn't able to bring up your tutorial though. Is that a fix on your end or should I try another computer?

Looks slick but it cost at least twice as much as a charging mat...just sayin.

Let us know what you end up doing!

Lol that's going to be an option for me in another year or 2

I think you just need to make sure what ever device you're using has a program that allows you to view pdf files. Try a different computer, if you still can't, let me know and I'll see if I can upload a different format

There's probably a few other good options, I just liked the simplicity of not needing to fabricate anything

    Thanks for the info!

Hey! I was installing this charger this past weekend and found your video on YouTube when I got stuck removing the dash retainers above the steering wheel. Wish I’d found your video before I did the Scosche way. Your shortcut was super helpful. Thanks for the video!

Hi, I was wondering if the wireless pad will charge properly if I do not install the magnet to the back of my phone? (I like to use my phone naked without case or magnet). Thanks in advance.
